I believe this. I just don't understand why the Cavs signed Wiggins. Now they must wait a month.
Maybe because Wiggins is off the table, just like Cleveland has been saying all along.
Cleveland didnt/doesnt want to give up Wiggins, just like GS wasnt willing to part with Klay. The Wolves tried "Leaking" info out there that both teams were willing to part with their star hoping to pit them against each other so one of them would budge, but neither were willing to, and thus created the stalemate that we have been seeing for the past month.
I think Minnesota has finally given up the hope that one of them would give in and are now ready to take the best deal for their future, one that will not include Klay or Wiggins. I think the trade will be based around Waiters/Bennett/Thompson/draft picks (which is still quite a haul for them). This will be like a stimulus package for the Wolves, giving them 2 recently drafted top 3 players, draft picks, and a decent young PF with potential, all for Love, who would be gone no matter what. Its alot better than what other teams have received for their disgruntled star who would be a FA next season.
After the trade i see the Wolves having a fire sale, looking for more young talent with potential to develop and draft picks while dumping off veterans like Martin/Pek/Brewer. They will spend all season with their young guys, trying to develop them and see what they really have (aka Stealth Tank Job). This also allows them to keep their own draft pick which is owed to us.
Rubio/LaVine/Waiters/GR3/Shabazz/Bennett/Thompson/Dieng is what they will build around and the players that will recieve the vast majority of the minutes.
