He may need to work on his baserunning and his bat against lefties is still very suspect.

That said, his stay in NH should be short if he keeps this up. I'd love to see him in Buffalo for the majority of August.

I think a Buffalo promotion this year is unlikely, but they've got to be sorely tempted to start him there next spring if he continues performing like this. They might give him April in NH to prove this half a season wasn't a fluke, and then make the quick promotion to Buffalo. He's looking like a good bet for a September call-up next year, if he hasn't made it before then.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I don't think so though, if i remember correctly he had better numbers against lefties in Dunedin, its a SSS issue

He did, but his K rate was also significantly higher against lefties.

The reports on him are generally the same; sells out for power from the right side, has a much smoother swing from the left.

So he may get exposed against left handed pitching at higher levels.

Reminder this is on tonight at 9 PM

Fans can see just how much has changed when the new Top 100 is unveiled on Sunday night, and MLBPipeline.com prospect expert Jim Callis breaks down the top 50 players during an hour-long special at 9 p.m. ET on MLB Network and MLB.com.

So far 4 affiliates have wrapped up their games and they have 12, 12, 20 & 11 hits respectively. One game was suspended in the 12th and another went 15.

Wild day.

Evan Smith:

5 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Low strikeout total today, but 9 to 1 GB to FB rate continues his trend as a strong groundball pitcher.

and these rankings mean a little more now that Jim Callis is behind them

If you can't bear the suspense, it appears that they have already updated the list here.

Surprised Pompey isn't a bit higher. Hoffman was also on there at 97

Like most rankings, there's a "pedigree" bias.

I mean despite the rough start Pompey is actually one of the best hitters in AA if you account for age, the raw numbers alone put him just outside the top 10. Combine his defensive and speed tools with the results he's shown with the bat i have a hard time seeing how you can justify anything outside the top 50.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of consensus about his defense. They have him graded 50/55 arm/field, which would place quite a bit more pressure on his hitting, and justifies having him in the back end of the rankings. Others seem to be quite a bit higher on his ability in center field, which would give him a higher floor and consequently a better rank.

Hard to take the rankings seriously when they make a glaring omission like Miguel Castro missing the Top 20.

I would have Urena much higher, as well as Miguel Castro, who isn't even on there.

No Castro is a bit silly.
