That was the nastiest thing I've seen since Theisman.

That's awful. Really really awful. In view of that, not sure I want Wall and Beal make the team.

Man, it wasn't as bad as that kid from Louisville, but that was bad. I feel horrible for Paul. There goes the Pacers season.

I thought the same thing at first. But, its not like they aren't going to play ball this summer. It can happen to anyone at anytime they play basketball. Can't stop playing.

Uggh. Just awful. Almost think we should go back to college kids. I just don't give a rat's ass about pro's playing in anything other than the Olympics and really don't care that much about that either. These guys are just too important to their teams in terms of $$$.

Left to use the bathroom so I missed it live. Watching it on youtube and damn I wish I didn't see that.

It's actually worse for college kids, because they haven't had the chance to secure their future yet.
Even if George's career is hampered moving forward, he's already got $100mil in the bank and is set for life

Yeah, you can't stop playing. But it can't hurt to keep off your feet as much as you can. The world cup schedule is pretty crazy. The play five games in five days in group play I believe.
I'd be devastated if Wall or Beal got hurt playing for Team USA. The Pacers just got their season wrecked and they were the favorites to win the East IMO.
This is really really sad. Feel just awful for George and Pacers fans. Things turned to **** on them in the span of a few months. The Basketball Gods are cruel.
And in view of Team USA, this is a pretty bad loss. George was our starting SF. What the hell are we going to do now?

Re: International Hoops thread
Losing George was such a bad blow for the league and Team USA.
Best I can think of is to either run a three guard line up and start Rose, Curry, and Harden. Or run a true two big line up and start Davis at PF and Cousins at C. Then on the second line, you've got to figure something out. DeRozan is the only guy to replace George I guess. Durant is going to have to play a ton.

Re: International Hoops thread
George will be ok. I snapped my lower leg in a car crash. 7 months later I was playing basketball again. He snapped a bone (tibula mid bone), that was pretty apparent. He didn't tear any tendons.
He'll be fine, and back strong next year. Best of health to him. Good thing is, bones heal FAST at that age. They even heal stronger.

If it wasn't comminuted (bone through skin). Like broke tibia and fibula - both bones in lower leg. Let's hope there wasn't any nerve or blood vessel damage.

I looked at it multiple times, it remained in the skin. He'll be fine. Bones heal so quickly at that age, especially with screws....he'll have the best medical care and he'll be fine.
One thing these guys should stop doing though is chasing down super athletic blocks during these types of games. They are the most likely to cause major collisions. Best of luck to George, but he'll be absolutely fine.

He'll be ok. I can say from EXPERIENCE, snapping a lower leg in half is FAR FAR EASIER to come back from than tearing multiple tendons. Tendons hold everything together in the body in terms of movement. If his knees/achilles are fine (which they should be completely) he just needs 3-4 months and his bones will be completely solid.

Yep, I had a similar injury when I snapped my fibula. The tibula is the bigger bone but I'm assuming they will do the same thing as they did with me. Put a plate and screws in and the bones will heal even stronger. He should be back just fine next year.

No doubt. One thing he should be very happy with, is he'll have some excellent advice/recommendations from Derrick Rose. This will really bond those two guys, even though they're on separate teams.

Wow, nothing came good out of that scrimmage.
Wall and Beal looked pretty bad, and George sustained an effed up injury. I'm honestly pissed I watched it...such a downer of a game.
