I've become this way and am trying to fight it. Last semester of grad school had no classes before noon, and my research let me do it whenever, so I've been growing that way since. Have to be up for work, but usually a nap after work does it for me a few days a week.

Lol yeah, school's the worst. The ability to pick your classes and start after 10-11am ruined me. Not to mention that I was able to schedule myself for no Friday classes and that now makes me want 3 day weekends. Funny thing is I could wake up at 6 am but I don't fully 'awake' until 12pm ish. Maybe my body is weird? I don't feel that burst of energy until the afternoon usually that most people feel after a couple of hours of being awake regardless of when I wake up.

Yeah I'm with you. I used to be a morning person til grad school which is the odd thing, but now I've completely flipped. I'm still hoping at some point it can be flipped back, but kinda wouldn't mind second shift work.

I'm not sure if this is too on-topic to be in the off-topic thread, but I just came back from watching USA vs. DR at MSG. USA wasn't really tested, but just some general thoughts:

— The most impressive thing about the game was Anthony Davis blowing up pick-n-rolls left and right. I counted one where a DR guard made a nice move, turned the corner, and made a tough shot over AD, and that's it. Davis was the catalyst behind USA getting up big early.

— DeMar DeRozan was awesome. Made a great read and threw an alley-oop to Andre Drummond for a monster dunk. DeRozan's perimeter game is gorgeous. Plays with a controlled pace. I think he deserves a spot on the team.

— James Harden was super aggressive from the start. He and Kyrie Irving were catalysts offensively in the first half, and both played surprisingly decent defense, too. And yes, the crowd moans when James Harden just runs into people to get free throws.

— Damian Lillard needs to go because his defense was atrocious. He turned the ball over a lot, but that could be just bad luck. The defense was terrible though. There's no need for him with Kyrie and Curry on the team.

— If it were up to me, Plumlee, Parsons, and Lillard would get cut. Probably Hayward would be the fourth cut.

— Crowd was chanting for Derrick Rose all night, so I decided to yell out for Larry Bird and Vernon Maxwell a few times just to keep things fresh. I was disappointed that Karl Towns didn't get a lot of PT, especially considering he's from NJ.

— Without KD and PG, USA is vulnerable. I'd say they're the clear favorites because of Anthony Davis, Steph Curry, and James Harden, but they are missing that long all-around perimeter star who can play the SF or PF. Their absence is the reason why Rudy Gay won't/can't get cut in my opinion.

Go with the Note 3. I know some think it's too big for a phone but it's still kinda light and has more features than S5.

Do you think it'll become cheaper with the Note 4 being launched this week? You live in Toronto so you feel my pain when I say I hate the big 3. Trying to get out from Fido's stupid contracts and moving to Wind. Torn between the two phones.

i'm also thinking of cases. The wallet cases look sick, but iunno if they are practical for me.

Both are great devices that I'd recommend.

Even though the N3 is a big device, it's worth it just for the S Pen and all the extra features. It also gets better battery life than the S5 under normal usage and has more RAM.

Although I prefer the N3, there are a few S5 features that I really like. The S5 is dust and water resistant, has a better camera, higher screen resolution, low power mode and new user interface that looks nicer than TouchWiz on the N3.

I use the s view case. It's really nice and you can reject calls, view notifications and clock, use camera and play music without opening cover.

The thing I'm worried about with the Note 3 is it fitting in my pocket. Without a case would probably be no problem, but a bulky case would be an issue. How is the S case in that regard?

I was looking at something like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Luxury-W ... 00395.html

Just worried about it being too bulky.

Yeah, even without a case the Note 3 doesn't comfortably fit in some pockets. I usually have it in the outer pocket of my backpack or bring a smaller phone when I go out. The s view case doesn't add a lot of bulk, but it does make it a bit more difficult to fit in pockets.

No issues with the S5 fitting in pockets since it's significantly shorter and narrower than the Note 3.

I'm assuming you checked out the note 3 in person? I personally can't see owning a phone that big. It seems huge, and i don't like stuff to be bulky in my pockets. The S5 is probably as big as I'd go. I prefer android, but i'm waiting on the iPhone 6 to see how it is. I'm sorta hoping that the smaller version has the same specs as 5.5" even seems big to me for a phone.

Get the Note 3. I have had mine since launch, and no issues here. I did read something about a camera issue when I got my phone, but maybe they've addressed that by now. Of course, you have TouchWhiz slight lag, but I use Nova Launcher so that takes care of that. Use the S-pen's Scrapbook feature to no end.

As for buying it used, the Note series hold their value. The Note 2 at the time of the Note 3 launch was still $300 and up, and I see the Note 3 still holding its value since its specs are still fairly current.

As for size, yea, it's bigger. I wear jeans daily, so I just keep it in my front pocket. Once you get into the S5 territory, you're already at the size where it's bulky regardless of manufacturer. Hellava lot different than the 4.7" phones which were big like 5 years ago.

I will add though that the S5 is a nice phone. My gf has one and likes it. Camera is a lot better than the Note 3. Also the screen is noticeably better. It's probably faster though nothing that I can really tell. If you don't see yourself using a stylus, then you're pretty much deciding on the Note 3 just by size only. The S5 might be the better choice if that's the case. Just boils down to that.

Any good music suggestions? I am constantly listening to music and enjoy a wide variety of music and I'm always looking for new groups. Just looking over my Rdio suggestions, these are the groups I've been listening to the most recently:

    The 1975
    Arcade Fire
Beck (saw him for the first time in concert this summer...so great!)
    The Big Pink
    The Black Keys
    Blur
    Broken Social Scene
    Broken Bells
Damon Albarn (also saw in concert this summer...he's the lead singer of Blur and Gorillaz for those who don't know)
    Dandy Warhols
    Flaming Lips
    The Go! Team
    The New Pornographers
    The Notorious BIG
    The Polyphonic Spree
Spoon (will be seeing them this weekend)
The War on Drugs (will be seeing them this weekend)

Not saying these are my favorite bands, but over the past three months I've listened to these artists more than anyone else. I'm much more of an "indie" rock person and appreciate different kinds of music except for country and rap (I consider all the crappy pop stuff you hear on the radio, like 50 Cent or Kanye "rap" and the actually creative artists like A Tribe Called Quest or Talib Kweli "hip hop"). What about everyone else, what have you all been listening to?

Based on the music you listed, this is what I'd recommend:

Cold War Kids
The Walkmen
Astr
Bon Iver
The Shins
Washed Out
Yeasayer
Tv on the Radio
Deerhunter
Temper Trap
LCD Soundsystem
Bloc Party
We Were Promised Jetpacks

Milk Music also says I've recently been listening to Sublime, Busta Rhymes, M83, Jane's Addiction, Outkast, Kasabian, Tycho, Radiohead, the Roots, Chromeo, Lyrics Born, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Jimmy Eat World, Danny Brown, Boards of Canada and the Black Keys.

Thanks...I'm a big fan of the bolded bands, fairly indifferent on the italicized bands, and the bands with the  I was never able to get into. We Were Promised Jetpacks is a band I think came up on my randomized station one day, and I don't think I've ever heard Astr, so I'll give them a listen!

The 2012 NBA playoffs promo using Burn it Down is one of the best ones in the last few years. Since then we have been subjected to Rihanna, Pitbull and Pharell :nonono:. I wish they would make it the default promo until they can find a better song. This is still amazing, gives me the chills unlike "Timbaaaaaaaa":

I was going to get the Note 4 but I can't find any screen tests. I know its a 6 inch phone with 2k res but are the colors accurate? I know the colors on my S4 are off a little and its noticeable. Also I need to know if Touchwiz is still a clunky mess or if the new Touchwiz the S5's have aren't full of lag.
