Re: CDR and the Soul Tones - Chris Douglas-Roberts Thread
Yeah, im gonna miss CDR. I hope he gets minutes in clipperland.
With PJ, I'm pretty sure we know what we are getting ourselves into. JT, not so much. JT came off of that nice run with the viking national team into mediocrity back on the cats, then having a torn achilles is nothing to scoff at. But the coaches seem happy with his recovery, so if he can come back and play solid 3 and D ball for the hornets, then I can live with the decision for letting CDR move on.

Good for CDR though. I'm glad he's going to a contender and I'm especially happy he's not going to Miami.
I have a feeling Simmons is about to become a CDR fan.

Clipper fan here.
Thanks for the insight on CDR. I think he may have a chance to start. Barnes is a decent player, but CDR seems like a younger, more versatile version of him. And also a better 3pt shooter.

Re: CDR and the Soul Tones - Chris Douglas-Roberts Thread
I guess I can't be too mad because the writing has been on the wall that CDR wasn't going to return barring a crazy trade with Hendo or Neal out of the blue but I'm disappointed that we have allowed a 3rd serviceable and net positive player walk this offseason, McBob, Tolliver, and now CDR. I'll be checking for him in LAC.

you cant really blame the hornets for not bringing cdr back. we just didnt have room for him. i am sure the front-office explored trading hendo, which would have freed up a spot for cdr.

Who can forget this ill-conceived retro-night stunt in LA (Lakers though) a few years ago. If I hadnt watched the game and there wasnt evidence for posterity of it on youtube, I wouldnt have believed it...

I remember it like it was yesterday. Everybody was pumped for the match and the Celtics blew them out. Watched it live during the night.

Re: CDR and the Soul Tones - Chris Douglas-Roberts Thread
I believe that CDR could start for the Clippers by the second half of the season. He will probably do so a few times out of necessity (a Matt Barnes suspension most likely, haha) anyway.
Things I was wrong about:
#4453 - The CDR pick-up from the D-League (Lamar 0-1 Catch)

Hand-in-glove fit with that roster too.
Deandre Jordan/Blake Griffin/Chris Douglas-Roberts/JJ Redick/Chris Paul
That lineup has everything you need. Now CDR isn't shutting down KD or Lebron or something, but for everyday games, that lineup will win a ton of games.

Here's CDR in short shorts and in that Rex Chapman "long spandex shorts beneath real shorts" look:

He looks weird period.

CDR looks different. He's a vegan. His game is kinda old school.
But I sure am looking forward to seeing more of this stuff!

I can only wish Taylor give us the same skill and production as CDR at backup SF. Oh wait. I'm gonna miss the dreaded pirate.
