im scratching my head at this as well... team won mroe games last season while dealing with in-season roster turnover, new faces, and alot of young rotation players.

everyone is back, a year wiser, and more farmiliar. yet that yields a worse record somehow?

Are you sure you're not a Raptors fan in disguise?

Seriously, you seem to bash your own team while singing praises for the Raptors all the time.

Being a fan isnt about praising your own players. its about being completely invested in the team. im completely invested in the nets, and have been for over 30 years... whether they were great, good, ok, bad, or(way to often) a giant bucket crap.

If the nets are bad im going to say they are bad. if a nets player is trash, im going to call him trash. and vice versa.

Raps are a good team, i have no problem with that. its not like its the knicks where i have reason to hate them or anything

Go to the realistic expectations thread on the Nets board. Pokorov loses it and bashes all of Canada in it.
I'm pretty sure he was just super nice to the raptors during the playoffs for the and1s. lol

we were trolled pretty hard in that thread.

Raptors are one of the younger playoff teams in the league, 2 of their starters are just entering their 3rd year and are poised to have capspace while the majority of their core remains under contract. How that equates to "very little room to grow" is beyond me

those 2 guys are nothing more than role players. and when was the last time raptors did anything significant with their cap space?

Just have to have a desirable team. If the team starts winning or looks promising people will come. We just never had those situations in the past. Also I don't think Valanciunas has reached his ceiling at all. Can't call him a role player just off of 2 years in the NBA.

Toronto has less question marks than most.

The only way I see them regressing are based upon:

a. Lowry regressing after playing for a contract
b. The East improving
c. Injuries

Two of which are very questionable and unpredictable.

I think they hover right around 50 wins, but I wouldn't find 45 offensive if I were a fan.

Injuries also go hand in hand with the other teams in the East. A lot of East teams got plagued with injuries last season and there's a good chance it will happen again and significantly hurt their playoff chances. Already happened to the Pacers.

Really dont understand this whole "East improved dramatically" comments I'm reading. Miami/Pacers look to be a lot worse (mid 40's wins to not making the PO). CLE is the only team that made a big jump this offseason (and if everything breaks right, the Bulls too). Every other team got worse or marginally better.

"East improved dramatically" comments are probably used in comparison to what the East was last year. The 14/15 season for the East teams improving dramatically depends on if the teams in question can stay healthy.
