RayMac's contract is up after the 2015 season. He'll be 32 at the beginning of the 2016 season. His play has dropped off a bit this year. Would you want the guy back for a couple few years? Because if he isn't charged, it might be a really good time to work out a contract extension.

Didn't he just sign an extension?

I don't think so. He restructured, but I don't think they added any years. I could be wrong; I'm going by Ninercaphell, and that says he's signed through 2015.

You're right, I think it was just a re-structure with speculation of a possible extension.

Dial might be a better option at end by 2016 so I wouldn't really be in any rush to extend Ray Mac unless it's a team friendly deal.

I've gone from a mild disapproval of Florio to thinking he's a complete hack.

McDonald has continued to play, creating confusion among NFL fans and the perception of competitive imbalance, given the decision to essentially suspend Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy with pay until their own legal cases have been resolved.

This is the first time I've heard anyone mention competitive imbalance with Ray Mac and there is no NFL mandate that he had to sit down and it's the team's choice to play him or not.

And why does AP and Greg Hardy continually get mentioned with Ray Mac when both of those guys were actually charged with crimes.

I mean this whole case should be exhibit A in why sitting a player based on accusations is stupid. So Ray Mac was supposed to sit out for 8 games while the prosecution makes up their minds to press charges or not? And now that they aren't he's supposed to waste 8 games of his career for nothing?

I'm not necessarily comfortable making a blanket rule that would apply in every case, but this is a textbook example why teams perhaps should wait until formal charges are brought before punishing a player.
