Interesting points:

People were just ignorant about the fact I played for the under 19 team (equivalent of high school in the US) and not as a pro (Senior Team). When I played a few games for the Senior Team, it was a good experience for me, but you got to keep in mind that it was a temporary situation because a starter was recovering from an injury.

You don’t know the Bruno Caboclo who dominated the under 19 league in Brazil, 30+ minutes, 20+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ blocked shots per game.

You don’t know the Bruno Caboclo who scored 39 pts, 20 rebounds, 9 blocks in a final game for the Brazilian under 19 Championship game.

You don’t know the Bruno Caboclo that was playing ahead of his time. When I earned a spot in the Senior team (Pro) due to injuries at the starting 3 position, I got some playing time in the big league and kicked butt. I had barely turned 18 at that time.

You don’t know the Bruno Caboclo who contributed to the Senior team that eventually became Champion of the Americas and Co-Champions of the FIBA World Cup.

Cool interview. Funny how none of this stuff has come up before. I liked the part where he said he could have played at the world cup this summer, but instead worked out with the Raptors players. Smart move on his part. So excited about this pick. Most interesting Raps prospect in ages.

How anyone is anything but extremely and positively surprised is beyond me.

Kid has shown in summer league and first game and it should be obvious to everyone he can hit the three. He just turned 19 and has an exceptional NBA body.

JV / Ross both came in older and could barely get floor time or should i say deserved any.

Up there with Tracy McGrady. Not saying he'll be anywhere close to Tracy, but I don't remember the last time i was this excited/intrigued about a rookie. I can't get over how freakishly long he is, from what I've seen so far, he's more DeRozan in terms of work ethic then Charlie V, i really hope this kid puts it together.

Definitely has the confidence in himself

Now that I am here, I am focused on the 2nd part of the plan: Becoming one of the best NBA players in a few years from now with lots and lots of hard work.

at 19 he can already hit an nba 3, has a 7'7 wingspan on the wing, moves well and he plays hard...he literally needs a lot of work at everything else but thats a solid foundation to build on

After some time absorbing lessons from the Raps coaching staff, I foresee a stint in the DLeague to put it into practice. You can't jump from zero (and sorry, but Brazilian high school league counts as zero) to guarding Omri Casspi, let alone LeBron and KD.

Read today that Bruno moved into a condo, this is random but Ithink he is more of a house guy. They should've set him up with one.

I'll bet my left nut Kevin Rashidi heavily edited whatever "interview" he had done with Bruno
anyone who's seen Bruno's interviews know he doesn't talk like that, his English isn't even close to that level and his tone is anything like that in that so called interview

here is the stuff, to see his moves etc.

fall is not included.

2:24 - With his recovery block, I think that highlights some significant potential for team defense. That is a very similar play to when Val spun baseline and got it handed to him by Demarcus Cousins coming across from weak-side. If Val is there all of a sudden it becomes a volleyball block fest. Amir floats and looks to pick off the drop-off to DeMarcus.

4:28 – Strong situational awareness, comes down to block to double Boogie. His positioning also cuts off passing lanes out of double.

5:36 – Once again comes down while noticing Cousins baseline and Gay with the ball in paint. DeRo and Cousins are clearly outmatched in this scenario. He drives a wedge between Gay and Cousins as he goes for the block, innate positioning.

9:00 – If not for the whistle he was immediately jumping off his man to help if Landry spins baseline. He would have ate him for dinner, you can tell this demonstrates how jumpy he is to help.

11:06 – He was far from blown by. If he didn’t step into Casspi, he was too deep to get a shot-up. Sound positioning.

12:58 – This is something I’ve been very happy with so far. First one back, and he also goes up for the volleyball type block with verticality as opposed to going for the swat. I would be interested to know if he played volleyball to be honest.

14:52 – On that closeout he literally just has to shuffle out and not jump. With that length he’s got his number once he learns to stay down.

17:44 – Despite the good outcome of this play it demonstrates his tendency to move vertically with his body tilted as opposed to shuffle horizontally. This makes him susceptible to change of direction by ball-handler giving the appearance that he was “blown-by.”

20:10 – He cuts off the driving lines twice, first on Stauskas then on McCallum. Not flashy help defense but he gets there quick enough that they don’t even consider trying to split it.

He already has in my mind a very good understanding of where the ball is going to be and cutting off the passing lanes / drive, particularly in a team set. With his length I think he can be an efficient defender of most 3's today even with his current lateral quicks. Its all about positioning as what we need to understand is that with his length its like he covers an extra step, at the very least half-step, on either side of him, without having to make that step. I think ideally he will be a very active help defender cutting off the drive / passing lanes with average man to man. Let's not forget Larry Bird would let his man by to go for the chase-down block. That was one of his main defensive plays. There are ways to get around deficiencies in quicks based purely on positioning and thought. With that being said I would be willing to bet his strength training regime to this day has been non-existent. Get him doing some squats and agility drills for two years and we will talk at that time. It's not fair to compare him to North American players who have been doing advanced plyometrics and strength training since they were out of diapers.

I agree, his defence was pretty solid in the Kings game. He has a tendency so far to overhelp, but he managed to close out on his own man when they tried to abuse that so far. There's a reason why he was +8 despite not filling the stat sheet.

If anything, it's his offensive awareness could use more work. Too much standing around so far, could cut more often when his man doubles off. He's standing in the corner in most possessions, but his mates don't trust him yet to get him the ball even though he's open. If he cuts to the basket more, though, his mates will be more willing to let him get a layup than a jumpshot from the corner.

I am sure he played volleyball at some degree, probably when he was younger. Bruno has two sisters that plays volleyball professionally.
