Falls in line with the rest of the absurd team previews. A lot of work was put into these which I respect, but truthfully none of them are very good.

Gasol play 2 way ball ??

man i love Pau, he's the most complete 7 footer offensively in this past decade, but since 2011 he can't defend as good when Pau younger.

Haven't you learned? You're not allowed to have any doubts about Chicago.

I think enough has been said about the McDermott comparison to Jimmer and Morrison. Just completely lazy. Morrison was never the shooter that McDermott is. Just not even close. Jimmer is very small and doesn't play his position well. He is an undersized SG. At worst, McDermott becomes similar to Kyle Korver. That is pretty easy to see based on his play in college and during the preseason. Comparing him to a guy that is out of the league and a scrub who gets no burn is far fetched.

Here is my bulls season preview

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1345477

I predicted 60 wins. Bulls won 48 games last season.
The subtraction of Boozer and addition of Pau, Rose, McDermott, and Mirotic puts the Bulls over 52 wins. The east is crap. I think my prediction is better.

To read most of these posts you'd think the Bulls had already won 60 games this year.

52-30 is what I expect if Rose goes down. I mean, they won 48 last year with a 7-man rotation featuring 1 playmaker. They've upgraded to an 11-man rotation, with several offensive upgrades.

I don't think you know what worst case scenario means. Then again, I don't think you know what being a realistic and reasonable fan is.

have you watched any preseason games? McDermott analysis is lazy too. Did you look at his measurables? Btw, white isn't a measurable in case you were wondering.

I just did the record projections and the part of the commentary under "Floppymusings". If you want to complain about the record, talk to me. If you want to complain about the bulk of the commentary, jazzfan is your man.

I like a man who keeps it real.

I also appreciate the amount of effort Jazz and Floppy have put into their attempts, but I think their projections are way off base. I suggested they tweak whatever methodology they are using to analyse these teams early on and was told it would get better over time. I still have yet to see a projection/preview that makes sense.

Boy you are in for a real treat Boozer.

Pau is an upgrade because he can protect the basket and Noah will not need to do both of their jobs. Boozer is good at screaming. I am looking forward to Kobe smacking him and telling him to shutup.

If he can attempt it we are better off. Enjoy Boozer lol

If one thinks Rose will start slow then be injured on/off, the prediction is not that bad.

But if he plays 65 or more and at least as good as Augustin last year (not a high bar for a former MVP, and he's better on D too), then Chicago's floor should be about 55.

floppymoose wrote:Regarding the win projection... the east got tougher. It's doubly hard to gain ground this year.

While I agree the East got tougher, it's hard to argue any East team (except Cleveland) improved their roster more than Chicago from the end of last season; additions of Gasol, Mirotic, McDermott and Rose. Without any of those four players, the Bulls had the second best record in the league, post All-Star break, last year. The two main players they lost over the summer, Boozer and Augustin, signed for less than $6.5 mil total; i.e. they weren't worth much.

If the Bulls only win 52 games, it will be looked upon as a hugely disappointing season.

Actually, outside of the couple blurbs about McDermott (not sure why either of you guys are detractors) I think most of this analysis is pretty reasonable and fair.

As a side point, McDermott has looked great in the preseason given his role. Defensively, he has the system down IMO.

He just had like 4 blocks in one quarter for us and many more deflections. He's blocking the s*** out of the ball in pre season.

Maybe Pau didnt play good defense for the Lakers because he hated playing for the Lakers after you guys started bringing in those crappy coaches like Byron Scott and Mike D'Antoni. But he looks amazing here playing in Thibs' system.

as for McDermott being the next Adam Morrison or Jimmer, lol. He looks much more skilled and NBA ready than that.

Does anyone here watch any preseason games or nah?
