you can win series without a sweep, mlb doesn't hand out sweep medals.

not sure how you interpret that post as desire to be an underdog and not sure how fans playing an underdog role helps anybody

which is why me saying that the dynamic of the series has changed is just an observation by me, not a declaration that the Cards are going to win or that you don't have a shot in the series.

again.

Quake Griffin wrote:Giants look setup nice for a sweep imo.

they're not scared of the Cards and have a competent manager, so the Cardinals offense is bout to be the offense we've all known it to be over the course of the season.

if the Giants do that, maybe I can get a new manager in Los Angeles. MAYBE.
So Giants....either win big or just don't win at all...i mean at all.

Quake Griffin wrote:My apologies for thinking going home up 2-0 with a chance to sweep is different than going home tied 1-1, with a Game 5 mandatory and another matchup with Wainwright (not that he's been great, but why give him another bite at the apple?) mandatory.

the jab was the portion about those clutch HRs not being funny.

the other part was not a jab and it wasn't counting you out of the series.
if you think it was. conversation over. not here to change you guys' minds

i thought he was great in CF.

just putting it in here cuz I don't think it's worth another thread.

He had a slow start to the season, but was amazing after the first month. I'd only rate Cain, Bradley Jr. and Jones as better defensive CF's in the AL.

looks like somebody hasn't learn his lesson from the other momentum guy

learned.

yea, that guy said momentum was everything and then picked the As to win. Not sure what I could learn from him.

My apologies for thinking going home up 2-0 with a chance to sweep is different than going home tied 1-1, with a Game 5 mandatory and another matchup with Wainwright (not that he's been great, but why give him another bite at the apple?) mandatory.

but ya know....you're a Giants fan and you have to do your best to play the underdog role and make something out of that comment.
chill.

I guarantee you that if the Giants were up 3-0 or even 2-1 (if it happens) that Wainwright would have pitched game 4 anyways

well, a win last night by the Giants (according to you) would have forced Wainwright to go in Game 4.
that's not necessarily on the table anymore (according to you) depending on the outcome of Game 3. so it kind of goes to my point that the dynamic of the series changed yesterday.

my smaller point: the dynamic of the series changing =/= Giants can't win.

and I don't think they'd panic and throw him if they were down 2-1...I think they'd throw him in 5 and bring him out of the pen if the series goes 6 or 7 before they set him up to do a 1-4-7 or just start him on 3 days rest in general.

To be frank, Wainwright isn't healthy and he's not been pitching like his usual self so it makes zero sense to rush him on short rest no matter the outcome until then.

and then successfully coughed up that lead. Molina is the difference between Rosenthal doling out 100 mph bombs and completely self combusting in the face of pressure.

he almost coughed it up twice to the Dodgers.
i know...ALMOST.

unless you're saying the difference you're talking about is him getting in front of the pitch he threw in the dirt.

Not that. Trevor almost always gives you a heart attack even when he produces a save so it wasn't a surprise to me to have runners in scoring positions in any of his innings vs Dodgers. The difference between Molina and Cruz is that Molina is excellent at calling pitches and managing the pitcher's anxiety in-game. Rosenthal is still 24 and had a shaky season so he needs that bit of familiarity and support.

Hoping the Royals can quickly KO the Os, although since the Os have already gone further then the Nats I have lost the closet bet with my girl and now she gets to flood it with Os gear. :(

Very glad the Dodgers handed over the keys to baseball operations to Andrew Friedman.

great move right there.
