today in association mode, brought to you by fats

- pistons offered caron butler and cartier martin for MKG
- heat offered mario chalmers and a 1st for MKG and a 2nd
- gary neal took a wide open shot from about 15 feet that flew over the backboard and hit the shot clock
- there is a stat in edit player, under tendencies called "crash", which is the likelyhood of a player falling down, they had zeller at a 5 out of 100 LOL. i bumped his up to 40, now he falls all over the floor. its perfect. to zellers credit, i improved his speed greatly. i dont think the developers had ever watched him.
- i also lowered biyombo's hands rating offensive awareness.

This is my biggest issue with MyPlayer. Damn if your team just always sucks no matter how well you do.

At least they fixed the part where your teammates didn't play defense so your opponent shot 72% from 3 every game.

So I have mentioned a few times I like to make a lot of players. After venturing into the CAP system it isn't as robust as I thought it would be, nowhere near what MLB The Show is. The CAP system basically gives you 10 presets for each feature and then you can tweak them a little. The biggest issue is fullness of face and placement of features on the head. This can make a big difference in how someone looks. It also only has one body preset just like in MyPlayer. 2K prides themselves on being a game that has multiple body types. Kevin Durant has a different body than LeBron and so on. For some reason you can't do that with CAPs.

Anyways I tried my hand at Barkley and figured I would at least share what I was able to come up with. The fullness of the face and jaw really hurts it, but I would say it is at least passable.

I'm the same. PG to me is great just because you handle the ball the whole time and don't have to wait for anything, but I love playing with a big man and blocking shots and getting boards. It just takes forever to make a big man athletic enough to make you feel like you aren't just plodding along.

Conversely I'm almost always a wing.

Always get accustomed to the game by playing as a 6'5 PG.

This game is taking a little more time than usual to adjust to- I can put up stats like a mofo (recently had a 17/16/17 game) but the passing is tough to get right (I average more turnovers than you care to know), and I still can't figure out consistent shot timing for some reason.

when I used to play 2Ks, I would hate how fast your ratings improved that it was impossible not to dominate. give me a 7'3 (or however tall you could get) defensive center with no offensive skills whatsoever and I'll happily play with him. I loved getting points only by finishing around the rim, grabbing 15 rebounds and getting near 10 blocks.

my favorite players to play with would probably be Shawn Bradley or Manute Bol.

yesterday i traded henderson straight up for ryan anderson and promptly plugged anderson in the starting lineup vs the pistons. anderson went 1-for-13 and the pistons won in a blow out, giving the hornets their 1st loss of the season (now 4-1). apparently the developers at 2k15 have never seen jennings play and think he is tim hardaway and they also think that drummond is bill russell.

moral of the story - henderson is awesome.

I'm making an athletic, defensive PG. I'm 6-6. So just a big rangy guy.

Just had my best career game. 28 points, 5 assists, and 18 boards (5 off), 2 blks. We still got steam rolled by the Suns. I play for Minnesota. Figured I'd join guys like myself with Wiggins and LaVine.

Playing too much off the ball for my liking with Rubio in the team though.

my best player(on 2k12 i think) ever was a 6-4 scoring PG that played for about 4 different teams but mainly the Grizzlies, i got him to 99 overall (i played every game also, it took forever)

multiple MVP's, about 3 Championships, all-stars, scoring titles, assist titles elite shooter and crazy athletic, like a Steph Curry and Westbrook hybrid from hell

I'm still on 2k13, will probably get 15 once I get a One (or maybe Live, not sure yet).

I didn't do a lot of myplayer stuff at first, but have been lately. Of course, the servers are down now so SP are used instead of VC. I tried to be somewhat realistic, making myself an undersized SG (a nod to my playing days). I skipped over picking a YOB though, and was like a 27 year old rook, lol.

It's 2k13, so I was in MKG's draft class. I went 7th to GS, but Barnes was still there as well. We were one and done my rookie year, but I had a nice series as a sixth man and made the second rookie team. By the next season I was starting over Klay. Steph got hurt though, and I ended up as a starting PG and spent some time at SF en route to a lottery pick. Hardly any time at the preferred SG spot, though.

Steph was back year 3, I went back to the 2 and shattered the 3-point record. We got the second seed but lost Bogut to injury and fell in the second round. Then the part that tells me I'm terrible at this: Despite 3 successful years, I was just a 70 overall, and the Warriors decided to release their starting SG who just surpassed 300 3s in a year, haha.

I'm now in my second year with the Grizz, fifth overall, and am up to a 76. I've never gotten higher than an A- and can't sniff the bank end of the all star votes. It's fun though, lol.

i used to stat whore on 2k11. It's on my old laptop but I think I scored 180+ points in a game and averaged a QD with 75 points while playing alongside Durant and Eric Gordon in OKC.

Once you're a 95+ it's just too damn easy

I scored 104 points in a game on 2k15.... And the extremely deep Hornets squad I was leading only won by 4 points (164-158) against a seemingly unstoppable Cav's squad... What is defense?

About 15 games into MyLeague. Early on was getting crushed on the perimeter. Pure shooters were killing me even with tight D and Kemba was getting broken down by every PG with a pulse.

Traded Neal (who was worthless) straight up for Sefolosha, and now put him on the other teams biggest perimeter threat.

Also executed a very convoluted multi-part trade that freed me of Messy's crappy deal (granted, I gave him 8 or 9 games to show something) and Brian Roberts (plus a '16 second rounder), that basically netted me Kyle Anderson and Anthony Morrow (and Perry Jones). This means Lance plays a lot more PG, and Zeller/Vonleh share minutes at 4. Created a bit of a logjam on the wings, but Slo Mo can cycle between the 1 and 4 depending on the matchup and has had some great games against backup PG's.

Definitely a learning curve on D. I love blocking shots, so used to just patrol the paint and wait for the drive, but not nearly as easy this year. I'm having to learn how to play some on-ball D, and it's extremely nuanced.

BTW - Al is a beast on the boards.

Were you on easy? My career high is like 26 and I'm a big, athletic starting point guard who averages a triple-double in my second season.

And yes I give up well over 26ppg to the opposing PGs. Defense is really tough, especially when your teammates provide ZERO help defense, and as always, athletic PGs like Brandon Jennings are gods in 2k.

I play on Hall of Fame with simulation sliders. I can check and see if I have a screenshot to show you the game. I use Paul Pierce's shot and green that sucker about 80% of the time, even online with lag. I also went through each and every single one of my animations and made sure they were exactly the ones I wanted (by testing them).

I am a 6'4 PG that is nearly maxed out attribute-wise. Early injuries to Kemba Walker and Roberts gave me extra minutes in my first few games with the club, and before I even finished my second 10 day deal.

As I came to find out the Hornets are a team with extremely high offensive potential. Lance Stephenson will not miss with 3 seconds left on the shot clock. Al Jefferson is unstoppable in the post. Vonleh can't miss from mid. Kemba scores more off the bench then he does as a starter. MKG is an alleyoop threat who also collects offensive rebounds. PJ Hairiston (like in real life I hope!) is automatic from 3. Hell even Bismack Biyombo will get in on the fun.

The only team I can think of in 2k with more offensive potential than the Hornets (at game start) under user control is the Warriors.

--------------------

When I first started playing opposing PG's used to make me their b*tch as well. Don't sweat it, since then I've learned how to shut down even the best of players (and by shut down I mean keep them below 16 points- which is a hell of an achievement when you are up against Rose).

TIPS ON DEFENDING:
- Don't use the sprint button, just don't.
- Don't try to reach in and make steals on the perimeter- save that **** for half court.
- The name of the game is utilizing help defense. It is okay to purposely allow an opposing player to drive if you call for a double team prior to them taking off. Usually this results in Bitchsmack Biyombo wrecking some pore preasan'ts **** for me.
- To stop driving all-together bump up against the opponent and gently back off, this also decimates the chance they will make a shot on you as it limits the distance you have to close out.
- When the opponent tries to utilize the baseline as a screen go over the top and intercept. There are very few teams that have the ability to lop the ball from a non PG, let alone have a PG that can jam that sucker.
- On fastbreak situations play the middle. The AI is trained to go for the hoop.
- Don't jump to block shots unless you ABSOLUTELY know you can block it, putting your hand up is easier to recover from and impacts the shot enough anyways.
- Contrary to that previous statement ALWAYS try to block layups or dunks.
