Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have agreed upon a four-year, $70 millon maximum contract extension.

Wow. Suns gave Bledsoe 5 year $70 mil and Warriors gave Thompson $70M for just 4 years?

Damnnnn. Klay has the potential to eventually justify this contract though so it's not that bad.

And are the Kings stupid? There's nobody on that team that has legitmate trade value except for Cousins. Nobody wants Gay even if the Kings offered him to the Warriors for free lol.

Talk about leverage and great timing for Klay in this one. To think that when Stephen Curry signed that 4/44 albatross contract there were all those doubts about his ankles holding up...

Why would they offer him the max now ? Makes zero sense. If you are going to offer him the max why not wait until the off-season and see how things change ? WHat if he has a career changing injury or his play deteriorates ? Or what if no one else offers him the max and you have leverage to offer him less ? .. .he is a restricted free agent , by signing him to the max now the Warriors are taking on additional risk they did not need to take!

And i thought Chandler Parsons was overpaid. If Parsons had a 4 year contract it would be 60 million. This makes me feel good as a non-Warrior fan. :lol:

Y'all need to get it through your thick skulls, that EVERY FREE AGENT IN EVERY SPORT is "overpaid". It's beyond annoying to see everyone complain every time a dude gets a monster contract. If he didn't get it from Golden State, he'd get it elsewhere.

It's more than a video game with spread sheets, man. There are actual humans involved in the deal, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, they want to make Klay Thompson, the human being playing basketball for them, happy?
