Bruno shows much more promise as offensive player at this stage of his career.

I'm not saying Bruno will fall in the same career trajectory, but that Ariza is going to be the type of player he'll end up in his prime, elite 3 point shooter and defender with a bit more scoring. If he improves on other skills, like working on his isolation game and learning how to come off of screens, he'll be a Batum/poor mans Durant.

Bruno has already exceeded all my expectations.. I thought he was honestly just going to be some freak athlete with long arms but the man can ball. The step back 3 was dare I say it.. Durant-like?

Choker wrote:While Bruno has a great work ethic, what's even more critical to his development is how quick he's learning. The kid is a sponge, throw something basketball at him and he absorbs every single ounce of it. It's strikingly similar to Joel Embiid last year with Kansas, who was literally improving game by game.

I don't think Bruno will be anything more than a high end 3+D player in the mold of Trevor Ariza last year (which would be awesome to have), but with his ability to pick things up so quickly and internalize it there's an outside hope that he'll be more than that.

I don't think anyone would be mad if Bruno became the rich man's Ariza. He already looks like he will be a significantly better 3 point shooter and his activity level combined with those freakishly long arms seem to make him extremely disruptive. He could be racking up a lot of steals, blocks and deflections in the future. I think the area I want to see the most improvement in may be his handles and court vision. Becoming a more competent ball handler would improve his chances of being more than a high end 3 and D guy. Gotta get Demar's dribbling coach on this kid's case.

I really feel he would start becoming a poor mans Durant if he improved his handles. One thing that surprised me was that he has good vision, his passing skills are just horrible. So that tells me he has good basketball IQ, that if he had the passing skills he'd be able to be a bit of a playmaker. And I find his athleticism tends to be underrated. He appears to have good quickness and a nice first step. What's holding him back are his handles. He seems to go half speed whenever he's driving to the bucket.

When he starts carving out his handles/passing skills he's going to be Nicholas Batum level.

He needs to spend more time with JaJo to learn how to defend his position. Ross could also stand to learn a thing or two from JJ. His pick off dunk leading to a dunk against OKC just serves to show that he's switched on.

Love the last play in this video

Bruno does spin twice, defender doesn't seem to fall for it either times but he gets bailed out by his ridiculous length. Love the kid already, long way to go, but i have high hopes.

I'm surprised no one has bitched about bruno not getting active duty over some of our scrubs. It seems like he might not play this season.

Which is why he should have been stashed this year. Such a waste of a roster spot and a year of his rookie deal.

Lets just hope he's the kind of kid who gets more out of drills than actual playing time.

Its 100x better than playing DeAndre Daniels in Australia. He gets monitoring, individual and team coaching, strength & professional development from an NBA franchise with no expectations of actual on court production. Nevermind that he gets to experience the NBA grind. As opposed to something similar to his Summer League experience.

Edit: The roster spot is meh. Every team carries somebody that never plays.
