I think when you have a 2nd overall pick who cant finish games or even get 30 minutes a game and in his 3rd season, he's pretty expendable. If he's getting 25 minutes and only getting about 10 points and 5 boards per game by the all star break, and if we're struggling as a team, I think MKG will be the guy we look to part with before any other player or coach. Gordon Hayward was gonna be his replacement but we settled on Lance cause it seems Jordan wanted him, either way unless MKG explodes as a offensive threat I think this year will be his last as a core Hornet player.

Hmm, so you think MKG is not a Hornet next year? What will his trade value be?

IMO, for a 20 or 21 year old, already considered a borderline elite defender? As long as he continues to start, I dont see why a mid to late first round pick cant be attained. If we bench him and harp on his lack of shooting I think his value is diminished. If we approach teams trying to sell them on his many positives and just admit he doesnt with what we're trying to do offensively, I truly think we can sell high. If we let him go for peanuts and he goes to the right situation everyone here will be pissed. A mid to late first is very reasonable cause the jury is far from out on him.

Dont you think we should be able to get a very good player for, say, MKG and Hendo? Or even put Vonleh in the mix, I think we have some very desirable trade pieces.

But a mid to late first rounder has so little value. If MKG had been picked at 15, he wouldn't be considered a bad selection to this point. You might feel like it's a long shot that MKG can ever be a consistent 30 min starter, but hoping to get that from any pick outside the lottery is even less likely.

Crap.

Think that happened in practice? Didn't see him limping in the game, but maybe that's why he was a no show in the fourth quarter (did he get in at all?).

R.I.P. MKG's confidence

He looked great against Portland after recovering from the NYK injury.

Lol if MKGs confidence goes down after some minor injuries than the kid is pathetically weak mentally.

Is it too soon to tag him injury prone? :(

Hmm most of his injuries were random WTF injuries, Taylor kneeing him in the head, Calderon smashing his hand, landing on his side weird. He just ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time, this one is the first where we dont know where/how it happened but at least they caught it early before it became a fracture. I wouldn't say injury prone until he gets more "not caused by someone else" injuries.

i'm not ready to put the injury prone label on MKG. that being said, i dont think MKG will ever be the kind of player to play 78+ games a year. like crash, he is going to get a few injuries every year from throwing his body around. in crash's years with us he played 70, 55, 72, 62, 71, 76 and 71 games. i expect MKGs career games to look similar.

I continue to believe that MKG is the key to this team. This is a different team when he is playing. He needs to be out there 35 minutes a game, like Jimmy Butler in CHI. We desperately need MKG putting up minutes.

Hopefully he can practice before then. Our first significant break is the gap between our game against ATL on 11/29 and the Bulls on 12/3. Fortunately we get another one between our game against the Knicks on 12/5 and the Celtics on 12/10.

I would think he can shoot free throws at least or some kind of stationary shot.
