Something like Smith/Augustine for Nash/scrub filler might really appeal to them.

Then we could resign Bynum as backup

Why would we give Augustine?

Added incentive for the Lakers to do the deal, plus he's not in our future plans anyway

Not a Piston trade but...

Cleveland trades Waiters, Thompson and filler (Haywood) to Denver for Afflalo and Mozgov. Who says no?

Denver does. Thompson is nothing special and can and most likely will leave in free agency esp with that clown Rich Paul as his agent. Not to mention they have a glut of big men as is in Denver.

Mozgov is actually pretty well-liked in Denver esp by Shaw. Despite having Nurkic as insurance for starting C why would the Nuggets give up Mozgov for Waiters, who has shown to be nothing more than a chucker who views himself as the next coming of MJ.

Cant wait to see this Cavs team collapse and burn. What kind of sweet justice would it be to watch Love walk in the offseason and see the Cavs lose their two consecutive #1 picks for NOTHING?? lmao

Cleveland passes unless they can get assurance that AA will stay after this season, otherwise they're giving Waiters away (who is still on a cheap deal).

I'd take that line-up. Smith would be subjugated to Boogie and Gay's ball dominance.

Time to approach Monroe and see how important his Bird Rights are to him and if he's accept a trade to get out of our circus here. $5.3M is a really easy contract to move and all the contenders could easily fit him in because of it.

I really dont understand what is the big deal about his Bird Rights.

All the Bird Rights give Monroe is the chance of getting that 5th year on his next contract.

But if the Pistons dont want to take back salary or work with his next team on a sign and trade he loses the chance to get the 5th year anyways. After he fcuked us last off season by not signing and taking the QO why in the hell would we agree to a sign and trade when we couldnt reach a deal with a team this offseason?

Dion Waiter and Lou Amundson for Jerebko, Singler, and KCP?

We get a decent and young scorer Cavs get a decent defensive player a 3pt specialist and and a better younger version of Shawn Marion minus the defense. Singler and JJ are also on expiring contracts. It might be lopsided tho what y'all think.

I don't think a S&T can even involve a 5th year. Bird Rights are important in that it opens up the whole league to bid on him rather than just the teams with cap space, but your right in that nobody was willing to give us any fair offer in a S&T last off-season so why expect one this season and Stan will not take on bad contracts or players that don't fit just to appease Monroe going to a team without cap space. Ie we're not going to take Eric Gordon just so Moose can play for New Orleans, but we would take Ryan Anderson. I also think he can get better yearly raises with a S&T, but given the money he left on the table, I don't think that would be a major issue for him either.

On a whole I think your right in that having Bird Rights is not a major issue for Moose in his situation if he's intent on leaving - maybe he doesn't want to uproot himself mid-season and have a learning curve to have to worry about or other reasons. Maybe he's open to a trade as soon as possible to the right fit for him ie a starting center gig on a contender type of situation. Given his contract, I think there would even be a contender bidding war for him if he was open to a trade.

man if i was svg i'd start up the tank train try moving both smith/jennings add augustin as incentive for expirings/picks...decline carons team option...let jerebko, datome, singler, joel anthony expire and dont resign them...waive tony mitchell. i'd also try to trade monroe at deadline...then summer 2015 figure it all out with picks/cap space leaving meeks, kcp, dinwiddie, drummond on the roster.

I don't love dion waiters but I would be ok if we try to pursue him. He is like a rodney stuckey/dwade type of player. I don't see him succeeding in Cleveland because there won't be enough touches for him. Imo he can avg 18-20 pts a night as a 1st or 2nd option.

I would heavily consider that trade.

Exactly I'm not in love with him either but he is a proven score that the Cavs don't need and the Pistons need scoring desperately and the Cavs need D at the guard position I think its pretty even.

I would love Sacramento forever if they took Josh Smith from us.

Please have mercy on us, Sacramento, we don't want assets anymore, just relieve us of the pain that is Josh Smith :waaa:
