Re: Bruno Caboclo discussion thread
Let's get to the serious stuff:
Think there will come a day when it says "BRUNO" on the back of his jersey instead of "CABOCLO"? And I'm not talking about some Christmas Day game in the future.

In preseason he had gotten so much better understanding where he needed to be on offense and defense (even though he still helps one pass away all the time). This game he actually looked like he fit in.
His ability to take in information and process it is so shockingly fast.
Realistic expectations for this season...

Re: Bruno Caboclo discussion thread
I kind of don't know where we slide him into the rotation any time in the next 2 years.
We have Ross, Derozan, Johnson, Lou, Vasquez all getting time at the wings. Maybe if there's injuries or something I could see him getting minutes next year. Maybe.
But, if everyone is healthy, where does he fit? Can we really picture a scenario 12 months from now where we are like "alright no more minutes for JJ, Bruno, you get his minutes"?
It's possible we make a trade, but is a 50+ win conference contending team really going to trade so much of our wing depth away that we are completely reliant on Bruno being a good rotation guy? I mean, what happens if trade a bunch of guys for say.... Horford, we plug Bruno in as a 20mpg SF off the bench, and Bruno proceeds to blow chunks?

The thing that separates Bruno over the Greek freak is his 3-point shooting. Other than that he's just missing the ball handling Giannis possesses.

And, defense. Dude must have done at least three 360's out there on that side of the ball, lol.

actually, he's missing a lot of what giannis possesses… namely, ball-handling, speed, lateral quickness, co-ordination, passing vision, vertical… the thing about bruno is he just seems really really slow to react… he just seems really slow footed… like he'll try to go one way, and as soon as he has to recover and go another, he just physically can't… for example, i remember in the chicago game, james johnson went to contest a shot or something, and when the ball swung over to the post, he quickly recovered and rotated over the the guy in the post… like he was just super fast at moving his feet and reacting… bruno doesn't have the ability to change directions it seems… it's like he just gets stuck… once his momentum carries him one way, it's over for him…

Casey still comparing him to Rashard Lewis. But i agree with Casey that BRUNO isnt scared and He's going to be ready for our championship run.

Agreed. As awesome as Bruno is I prefer Giannis over him. Giannis is an athletic freak. Bruno gets underrated as an athlete around here imo, but he's not on the same level as Giannis, not even close.
With that said his long arms may enable him to become a better role player than Giannis. It's hilarious how much of an impact he has on the defense that he's not even aware of yet. I've seen the Bucks hesitating and second guessing themselves on whether or not they should have made a pass with Bruno around in the area. And while I hate hate HATE how he's always helping one pass away, it's pretty astonishing that he still gets up and contests the shot all because his arms are so damn long.
Once he learns better positioning he's going to be a terror on defense.
And also Bruno is a much more natural shooter. Giannis is getting better, but it's like the difference between Kevin Durant and LeBron James. Yes James has acquired a nice jumpshot now, but he'll never ever be on the same level as Durant no matter how much work he puts in.
Giannis has more potential to be an offensive hub, whereas Bruno will fill out more as a high tier role player (although there's a spec in me that's holding out on him being a star player).

Giannis is getting PT @ the PG, SF & PF positions. Bruno is riding the pine. Any and all comparisons are unfair until Caboclo can develop by playing meaningful minutes.

Re: Bruno Caboclo discussion thread
Bruno looked good on offense. Very smooth, clean looking jumper and he moved well off screens. Rebounding position was solid as well. He needs to improve his handles and as others have mentioned, he looked lost defensively. But luckily that can be taught and as he plays more minutes, he should improve that area of his game.

Watching that clip was kind of like watching the final game scene of this sort of popular sports movie... what's it called... where the crowd at Notre Dame is chanting "Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!" and then he gets in there and makes his one big play and everyone in the theatre jumps out of their seats, fist pumping in every direction, and grown men not even trying to hide their tears.
What an unbelievable thing we have going on right now...
... not sure if srs

Yeah I'd say it's probably because he's 19 years old!!!! When he get out if his teens his defence will improve.
I love Ujiri. Even if Bruno doesn't work out, I love attempting to hit a home run with a late first
