STICK A FORK IN US
With this loss tonight, the Niners playoff chances are pretty slim I think. We now definitely need to win out, including a trip to Seattle in 2 weeks. Not going to happen. Kap looked absolutely horrible tonight, both picks were his fault and no one else's. When we got that FG, he missed a wide open Hyde in the flat for a screen and likely 1st down on 3rd down. I have defended him all this time, but tonight was enough, I think he is slightly above average at best. With this being his 3rd season starting, he is simply as good as he's going to get I think....Lets hope they get a true No. 1 WR in the offseason.

lol we surrounded him with davis, boldin, crabtree and Johnson and people keep saying boo hoo he doesn't have enough weapons. Who does Wilson have to throw to? What about brady?49er4life1979 wrote:With this loss tonight, the Niners playoff chances are pretty slim I think. We now definitely need to win out, including a trip to Seattle in 2 weeks. Brady has the best te in the game no taking up for kap at all just saying. Also to the original post kap missed Hyde on 1 st down not 3rd either way the idiot missed him. This had to of been worse game I've seen him play.

49ers have scored fewer than 20 points in all 5 games vs Seahawks (incl. playoffs) with Colin Kaepernick as starting QB -- 4 TD in 5 games.
I'd definitely say so.

Re: STICK A FORK IN US
As bad as the stats were, it could've been even worse. There was that dropped interception. Obviously, if that interception happened, the rest of the game would unfold differently from that point on. However, points wise it didn't have much effect because of the punt return fumble.
There were about three or four incompletes that were vacated due to penalties on the Seahawks. Obviously, Seattle deserved those calls against them, I'm just saying that not all of them affected the plays and would have made for more incompletions.
I didn't see many drops or bad attempts at yards after the catch to say the game could've gone much better otherwise. Only the play calls and execution by the team could have improved it.

Not ready to throw the towel in yet on this season as we could still realistically get in at 11-5.
However I'm not even overly optimistic we can beat the raiders next week with this offense.
Going to be a long 9 days ahead.

Brady also has a coach that is able reinvent his gameplan week in and week out.

Re: STICK A FORK IN US
Didn't watch the game aside from about 10 plays. In those 10 plays I saw Kaep get sacked, and throw both his picks. They gave sherman a lot of credit for those, but they were two terrible throws. The first especially because Lloyd was open. The combination of Roman and Kaep doesn't work. Not sure if Kaep has been figured out and he is what he is, or maybe someone else can get more out of him, but it is not Roman. Roman needs to go like, right now. Just get him out of there. They aren't going to win the Superbowl, so at this point just try something else. There is far too much talent for this team to be playing like ****. The defense is still playing pretty well, but the fight is gone in this team. They used to seem mean and dominant. Now, you watch and at the end of the game and they might have had a big win, but it feels like they were outplayed.

Who has said that? The comments I've seen - and the ones I've made - have typically gone something like this: This offense has way too much talent to be this bad.
The one area where we're limited is speed, but Kap can't hit the deep throws anyway. Though maybe some speed would back up the safeties....

As far as Kap not hitting deep throws, I believe the past two years he was one of the better deep passers in the league. That's passes 20 yards or more. Something is not right

Re: STICK A FORK IN US
Our biggest deep threat is Vernon and he's been a non factor all year which is why we're struggling with the deep stuff.
One of the underrated reasons we were successful in 2012 was that defense respected Randy Moss as a deep threat and with him and Vernon on the field it pushed defenses back.
At this point the focus on the offseason is to acquire someone that is a deep threat whether it's trade, free agency, or getting one in the draft.

Re: STICK A FORK IN US
I have to say I found this loss completely demoralizing because it just showed our offense is not competitive at all. While Vic fangio is able to put out a great defense despite injuries to key players the offense can't get it going at all. Not only that, This offense seems worse than last year's, at least in the nfc title game we scored points and came agonizingly close, This year despite adding receivers, Kaepernick having another year and another training camp it looks horrible. I've read columns by people I respect who have said Kaepernick has made progress this year and I believe it, but I don't know whether it's enough and I think it's fair that he should be farther along. Is it coaching? Or talent (qb) evaluation, Or both? I'm glad York was pissed after the loss but I think it was a punk move to tweet it after everything Harbaugh has done for this franchise. All I'm saying is everything needs to be scrutinized, coaching quarterback and gm as far as the offense goes.

Last year he was tied for 5th in deep passing (20+) accuracy (45.6%) and was just outside the top 10 in deep passing TDs. He was also tied for the 5th most drops on deep passes last year, too.
This year the accuracy has fallen to 20th (34.4%) and he is tied for 13th in deep passing TDs. He only has 1 drop on deep passing attempts this year, which is tied for 15th.

If they are going to fire Roman, now is the time to do it. We still have four games, including one against the Seahawks. Throw them off a bit. We have 10 days until the next game. And if we don't make the playoffs, then at least we get to see what the next guy can do. Give them a head start with this offense. This is all assuming that Harbaugh is back. Which he might not be. But if the new OC works, maybe he stays?
I could see the offseason being better for a change, especially if we don't know what's going to happen with Harbaugh.

Vernon a non-factor this year, no other speed, no creativity in the offense, and an O-line that cannot protect.
