I am scared of Donnie managing a more traditional NL team.

that guy truly benefitted from an AL East lineup (or close to) covering up his mistakes.

Well it's a trial by fire then... If he can't make a lineup Friedman clearly believes in, work, then he's the problem. And you'd have to assume he won't keep his job long if that happens.
It feels like they just couldn't decide if Donnie was the problem or the dysfunctional roster, so they did what they could to fix the problem and will give Donnie a slim chance to be successful.

I really, really hate the Red Sox.

I have no idea who the Yankees have the ability to go after at this point.

what are your thoughts on a healthy B. McCarthy?….particularly with respect to how he pitched for you last year.

His numbers took a turn for the better when he came back to the AL. He was tremendous for us down the stretch, and was a big reason why we even had a slight chance at making the postseason.

I don't know if going back to the NL West will be a detriment to him, but I doubt it. Him also being on the back end of a very good rotation is probably a good thing. He won't be tasked with being THE guy every five days.

Why not take a year off and go big next season?

Because I'm a Yankees fan and I want success now?

In all honesty, this is kinda what I wanted. With what little resources they've got left in the system, I want them to build from within, and stop spending every nickel on major contracts that never end right (though I still wish they resigned Cano).

I just hate seeing the Sawx do better, and that's what it's shaping up to look like next season.

I could honesty care less about the Orioles and Rays, since I know Jays will always be mediocre.

Honestly, you don't get awards for winning the offseason.

I'd rather my team do nothing than force bad deals. Nothing, by the way, is exactly what they've done the past 6 years.

They've also re-signed their free agents to bigger deals such as Timmy (bad deal), Pence (good deal) and Posey (good deal). This is the first year since 2010 that I can remember them losing one of their key guys to another team...

Regardless of being world champs, they desperately need help in the rotation and at 3B right now.

if it is a bug, seriously, it cannot be only happening to me. have your admin Howard Mass to address this problem.

Are you on a phone or what?

Either way, relax dude.

no Im using my laptop.

well it was pretty weird for me to keep getting notifications from posters right after an argument, so it is pretty easy to assume what happened and was getting truly annoying for a few days. if it is just a glitch, hope you guys get it fixed soon.

the latest i hear now is that the Dodgers are looking to expand the trade with Phillies to include Cole Hamels.
this is my personal off season fantasy heaven. I have been talking about this for some weeks now at the dodger forum and seems these front office guys are thinking in similar way.
ehhhhh f it.

well we may have flipped one of the most major ready starters in Heaney, but the real coup here (especially now) may be Chris Hatcher.

he is the first modern day player to break into the majors as a catcher then converted into a pitcher. many do this but in the minors. Hatcher this year had gone solid with ridiculous SO/BB ratio and very respectable stats across. he seem to have figured out how to pitch, finally. his arsenal is impressive. 93-97 mph fastball, 87 mph slider and a decent change up. he is what we hoped Dominguez would be. we got a power bullpen arm who will probably become the 8th inning guy before the all stars.

essentially, we flipped Dee and Haren into Kendrick and Hatcher plus other prospects. if you count signing of McCarthy as of a by product of shedding Haren's salary, this was quite a deal we just gained.

pretty awesome that stuff we have talked about in the dodgers forum are coming into fruition?

almost brotha…almost.

As I stated earlier ITT, I am absolutely terrified of having Don Mattingly coach a more traditional NL team.

unless Donnie salty balls make the same mistake as last year of favoring Wilson over youth in the 8th, I think we are becoming even Donnie proof. only thing I would wish is to have the pitching coach to make pitching change decisions especially come playoffs

Those options sound terrible tbh.

Yarbrough is an offensive-minded switch-hitting former SS. I know what his numbers were in the huge pitcher's park last season, but he'll be a good bat for us.

But really, 6 years of Heaney > 1 year of Kendrick, and it's not even close.

of course, Heaney is a great talent. but assuming the dodgers will resign kendrick, it isn't so black and white.

I am not too sure why Angel fans tend to underestimate Howie Kendrick, but his defensive runs saved last season was around 7. that makes him the 4th best in that category in all MLB.

Not sure where you came to that conclusion, but Kendrick was and is appreciated by Angels fans. Top 7 2nd baseman in the game over the last 5 or so years.
