The best spot up shooter the league has seen in quite a long time.

Re: Some Love for the Marksman Kyle Korver
What I love about Korver is that he has quietly improved his game every year. His movement and shooting are now so good it's hard to find many better all time whilst he has also become a solid defensive player and rebounder.
He is limited, yes. but there are few better role players.

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

I want to see him on the All-Star team. For years, players are voted in off their athletic prowess, so why not shooting ability?

Agreed, but he won't be, because half the NBA fanbase doesn't even realize he exists.

I voted for him. I'm a huge korver fan since his jazz days. 50-50-95 it's just amazing.

The impressive aspect of this is that he has done so much to improve the other parts of his game as well. He is a net player on the both ends of the floor.
Don't be a jerk.

Jimmy is my guy for the SG spot, but maybe will switch to korver for some votes. I normally dont like shooters at all, the 3 point game is not my, but korver is so money from downtown its amazing. Every 3 he makes i feel something inside.
So i would be happy if he makes it over Irving or someone else.
Lowry, Wall, Butler still deserve it more but then not really someone else.

Re: Some Love for the Marksman Kyle Korver
I remember Kyle Korver in Philly. He was a great shooter but he wasn't anything more than that. This league is always full of great shooters. Though over the years he went from being a great shooter to an all time great one. He's worked super hard to excel at the limited role that he's been given as a spot up shooter. He doesn't need much gather to get a shot off. He doesn't even need to be completely still to shoot an accurate 3 pointer. He's perfected how to shoot a 3 pointer in almost every single type of situation.
He's a role player with a superstar's work ethic and he's channeled all of that into becoming the best player that he possibly could become.

This complete still thing is so amazing. Guy just catches the ball standing on his toes no real balance then the shot is perfect and nothing but net. Amazing. I swear this guy makes me to work actually on my shot.

Korver is having a great season but if anyone is going to make the AS team from Atlanta it's going to be Teague.

I like how every fan base thinks there's a bias against their team. Last I checked the Hawks have most seasons had someone named all-star despite never having anyone that's seriously All-NBA worthy. They're doing fine.
All that said, love Korver. When we speak to the paradigm shifts that went into creating the current era of the NBA, Kyle Korver was already a poster child for just maxing out potential in a few areas to make sure you can be valuable in almost any situation, but the way he keeps growing deep into his career is astonishing.

First of all, I'm not a Hawks fan. Never have been, never will be. Not sure where you got that from. Second, the number of past all-star selections is inconsequential to what I said. ESPN has the time, resources, and space on their page to discuss all the times when LeBron consumes a cheeseburger, yet they don't have a single article talking about Korver's incredible feat thus far.

Re: Some Love for the Marksman Kyle Korver
Great topic!
Unheralded players like Korver should be given due credit with threads like this.
No disrespect to Bulls fans, but accomplishments like these are more topic worthy compared to something like this: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1354225
He's no LeBron or Rose, but his TS could be history in the making by the end of the season.
It's about time the General Board notices the "other" non-Superstar players...

Re: Some Love for the Marksman Kyle Korver
He's been a good player for a long time now. Obviously he's a ridiculous shooter, but he's hardly just a specialist. This guy is a good basketball player period.
And if he puts up 50/50/90 on his current volume? Well that's insane. Historical indeed.

I've always been a fan of him, but I liked Two and a Half Men better before he joined the show.

I didn't realize he was 33 already. Really inspirational how guys can improve even when they get old if they keep working on their craft.

I see. It's weird to me why you would talk as if there's a specific bias against the Hawks if you just are complaining about star bias.
As far as ESPN writing articles about Korver, well Zach Lowe went crazy talking about Korver this summer with 2 articles devoted to him and Haberstroh just did an interview with him. That seems like quite a lot for someone who does very little on offense other than shoot, but only scores 13 PPG.
