Unfortunate tweet from Kyler but not unexpected.

I do not think last nights injury changes a thing.
Parker is good yes, but he was not playing at level so great that it means we should blow it all up and make irrational decisions.
This is about the future, I do not expect the Bucks to be actively seeking trades, but if a team calls with an offer that makes us better in the future, I am sure we will listen.

I'm intrigued by Shabazz Muhammad. Was never a huge fan of his coming out with all the hype and he wasn't anything special at UCLA or his rookie year but he seems to be putting it together as of late. I'd love to have him in our future plans.

Re: Trade Targets
Last nights injury may have cost the Bucks 50,000 ticket sales over the remaining 30 or so games. The big picture is Jabari's long term health. But short term this is a kick in the ass for this team.

I can guarantee that Wes and Marc will be thinking hard tonight about a tank. They'll talk, then bring Kidd into it tomorrow.

It puts all of the pressure squarely on Giannis's shoulders to make the playoffs. Wonder how many loses before Bayless becomes the starting PG.

I have to admit I might have been wrong about Shabazz. He's putting up pretty decent numbers off the bench on very good efficiency. Not sure what another 6'8 scoring wing does for us though, other than further contribute to the logjam at SF/PF. I'm also not sure the Wolves are in any hurry to deal him.
Dieng is the guy I would inquire about, but I doubt they're open to dealing him either. Injuries have (wisely) put them in full rebuild mode.

That would be the best case scenario in my opinion. I was tweeting back and forth with Kyler and he thinks there is no need for them to make changes because you want the future guys to learn and get a taste of the playoffs, but I think that if Jabari is out for a long period, then a major part of our future won't be getting that taste first hand so it makes no sense to try and continue to push for the playoffs on the backs of vets, especially when their value is high and we could possibly get some assets for the future of this team.

Yep , he would be a great 2 if Knight isn't playing PG, either would make a great 6th man.

Agreed on the logjam but if you could move Ilyasova, Henson and if Middleton asks for too much in free agency, he could be a nice grab. I'm not very partial to any of the SF/PF guys we have on the team other than Giannis, Parker and Inglis.

He's 6'5-'6'6, could be our starting 2 if we move BK.
Ersan/2 2nds for Shabaaz and Mo
PG:Knight/Marshall/Wolters
SG: Mayo/Bayless/Knight
SF: Shabaaz/Middleton/Dudley
PF: Giannis/Henson/JOB
C: Sanders/Zaza/Henson

Re: Trade Targets
The team will do well with Giannis at PF, IMO. But at the end of the day, we got 22-25 really valuable minutes out of Jabari. I know people like to say "advanced stats, we will be better" but I don't buy it. Usually Kidd was only playing Jabari in situations where he was doing well.
Then you look at the psychological side of this. The team and fanbase have to be crushed right now. Does it really make sense to massively push for the 8th seed on the backs of ZaZa and Ersan? Especially when one of our two franchise cornerstones faces an uncertain future depending on his rehab?
I just think Wes and Marc are smart enough to know they've got a window here now to tank.

Re: Trade Targets
if Jabari is out for the year,
then id prefer to miss the playoffs
and get a decent draft pick
the decision on Knight
also plays a huge role on what we do moving forward
im unsure if hes a starter
but positive hed b a great backup guard
the top 8 players, are my concern
everyone else is just a piece
to help us acquire top8 guys
pg, sg, giannis, jabari, sanders
knight, middleton, C/PF
we can hold onto inglis also
until we see what he can do
if we can get another 1st round pick
using any of the players not mentioned
im 100% for that
i could even be convinced of moving guys for a younger and 2 2nd round picks

Picks 7-9 and more lotto balls much better than pick 15.
Plus playing time for Henson, JOB, Giannis at PF/C
Then maybe you pick up another first or developmental players in a trade and give them PT (Vonleh, Zeller, etc).

Didn't want to say it last night, but the thought that this gives them a casual-fan reason to punt on the season had occurred to me.

Yep. Been common NBA practice for every team in the league to think of a tank if their marquee player goes down. League has been doing it since the Spurs got Duncan, and really before that even.
*Yes I know Giannis is our best player and ludicrously marketable. But Jabari was the face of the franchise to the casual media and casual fan.
