So Drake butchered the team's logo, colours, and uniforms. He better help bring in a good player to make up for it.

Bit premature considering we haven't seen either yet, no? I'd be happy with a slightly boring yet classy look if that's what we get.

I have to admit, if it's the Brooklyn look they're going for, they got it right on the mark.

We are all going to look back in 10 years and realize how garbage this logo is. Its like when the Blue Jays went with the Black Jerseys and the Blue "T".

That tagline is also awful. So cheesy....

Exactly. The Blue Jays made this mistake a decade ago when they went with that horrible black and silver style in order to appear more hip and trendy. Luckily, they finally realized their mistake and brought the classic logo back. I can't believe the Raps are about to make the same mistake lol.

Difference is the Jays were contenders and then back to back World Series champions while wearing (The franchise's original) logo, moving to another logo for them made ZERO sense, but they were being run by Paul Godfrey, someone who makes Richard Peddie seem like an astute sports businessman. The Raptors on the other hand were nothing but mocked with their original cartoon logo and the links to Barney etc., also they have done NOTHING of historical significance while wearing their original logo, hence the leeway to change and find something different. The new logo get's a 'm'eh' rating from me, just glad they didn't go back to cartoon dinos, to busy a design, and purple.

The sad thing is that this new logo is equally as terrible. Not to mention they copied the logo of a team that just beat you in the playoffs last year. Truly pathetic.

But Friday’s unveiling was merely the black and white drawing of the new logo — new uniforms and a full colour version of the new logo will be released in January.

“We’ve been working on it for a while,” said Raptors GM Masai Ujiri. “When you see the whole thing, it’s actually nothing like (Brooklyn). Our colours stay the same.”

While the complete new look won’t be released until January, the team decided to unveil the black and white drawing Friday because it would have likely surfaced soon anyway, said Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment spokesman Dave Haggith.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is an updated version of a previously published story that incorrectly said the full uniform will be released later Friday.

Full logo and uniforms won't come out till Jan. Also, note Masai's comments re: colours not changing.

Also, it's funny how the General Board seems to think it's pretty good, haha. I was hoping this wasn't going to be out main logo since it's a bit bland, but still the jerseys are the most important thing. Hopefully they're good.

...then I love it.

In black and white, I agree with most posters that it looks too much like the Nets. But in color, it looks great. The red really pops.

Very clean looking, which i don't mind.

If i had to nitpick - i would have completely got rid of the red for purple, gold or even silver.

This is funny, but with the red ring, it actually grows on you.

It's like when you hear a song for the first time, you think meh.
Then after 3 more times, you can't stop playing it!

This is one of those rebrands that you won't even notice. Just like the wizards rebrand or when the cavs change jerseys lol

How can some of you guys actually like this trash? It's a replica of another NBA team's logo and we're blatantly biting their style, design, and color scheme. Absolutely no authenticity to it at all and even if it wasn't a complete bite off of the Nets, it's bland and tasteless. No substance at all.
