No it's not. Games are likely to be unwatchable for awhile. 3-5 years of rebuild ahead. I won't be buying League Pass next season.

I believe none of this. Not after Ben Gordon and Charlie V. If this media member said this they're just angry that the old regime and their info is gone and that their scoops come from Twitter just like the rest of us.

Dumars has wanted Josh since Sheed left.

Dumars wanted Smith since Atlanta drafted him with the pick we traded for Sheed.

At least Monroe and Drummond don't suck at basketball or are as bad cancers. Smith is a clown I heard a story where he was threatening a fan at the raptor game... Glad you guys don't have to deal with that turd anymore.

PLEASE PHILLY TAKE HIM

Sweet sweet justice for Josh to have to deal with an even worse team with nightmare fans

I can see it now, Hinke saying "look, everyone in the league wants this guy, we can jump over everyone if we just claim him, we need to spend the money up to the apron anyway."

Josh Smith made games watchable?

I wonder why they didn't deal him for Jason Thompson and Darrick Williams? Williams is an expiring and Thompson is a less painful buyout than Smith.

Maybe Smith wasn't even worth that. Which would be pretty sad.

I was watching the games. I will continue to watch because I paid for League Pass. I expect much uglier games ahead and would be shocked if we win more than a few.

I'm assuming that everyone here with their plethora of posts were watching, also. Of course I could be wrong and several folks here just looked at stats and are making ill-advised and uneducated speculations.

Sometimes when you know youre on a **** team, selfishness comes into play. Josh wasn't ATL josh. Maybe putting in 100% effort wasnt worth it to him, bc we werent playoff bound. Now, dallas, Miami, la, Houston want him. That makes him happy im sure. Wouldn't be surprised to see him playing like ATL josh next to dwight Howard. Its better this way anyways. Bottom out. See what you got with Mitchell, datome. And finally. The monroe and drum slappies can get what they want. No excuses this time. Full 50+ games of them two together. Lets see how good monroe really is

Starting dec 26. Monroe should be averaging 18-19 ppg or even 20ppg for the rest of the season. If not, gets the steppn ****

Stan wanted a chance to coach Smith over just dumping him right away, it's been a disaster and that offer clearly isn't on the table anymore.

I believe this 100%

Joe wanted to build with knight, monroe, drummond, kcp. Building through the draft was gonna take time. And gores forced dumars to rush playoffs.

Are you guys forgetting all the playoff talk from gores.

The guys a total douche owner

When you are the highest paid player and hold yourself out to be the man, it's up to you to set the example. It's clear Josh wanted the contract and the status but had no interest in any of the responsibility that goes along with it. Everything is on him. He's the one who agreed to the deal knowing he would need to play a lot of time at the 3. He's the one who quit on the coaches and claimed they did not know what they were doing by playing him out of position, which he agreed to do when he signed. He was the one all our young players were looking to and he's the one who allowed the poor attitudes to permeate throughout the roster.

Even beyond our cap considerations, I desperately hope Philly just claims him. He doesn't deserve to go to a contender to just play a role. I can already see him signing in Dallas or Houston and suddenly doing all the dirty work he wouldn't be caught dead doing here and cleaning up his shot selection, painting us as a clueless franchise who just didn't know what to do with him. I've never been in a team meeting, but I think it's safe to assume none of our coaches drew up the gameplan of Josh chucking awful shots and not caring on defense. The guy is a quitter and deserves to tear his acl stepping off the plane with his new team.

I totally agree with this if he ain't putting up numbers close to this then he is not even close to being worth 12+ million.

I agree with you 100%

I know its frustrating to see a talented player sign here and not give it his all bc he couldn't handle being #1

Same can be said with iguadala. People here were drooling over him. Now he rides the bench. Same can be said about kawhi. These type of players are very very talented #3 options for championship teams. Unfortunately, we dont have a #1 or a #2.

Lmao at the acl tear

But its Christmas, and its a blessing hes gone. Wish him luck.

You're all over the place. I And1'd your post above this one because it had some logic. This stuff here is on the other side of the spectrum.

"Too damn hot for a Penguin to be walking around" Take it easy mate, that's a terrible thing to say.

Anyway just wondering, do we now have a roster spot available? Can anybody see us bringing someone in if so? PF depth seems to be pretty thin.

Yeah Drummond and Monroe are the main guys up front now... minor detail, it hasn't worked well so far... who will be the scape goat next?

Maybe they'll actually get some time to develop chemistry. They haven't had consistent time on the court together since Drummond arrived.

Who was worse as a Piston, Smith or Iverson?

Return to Detroit Pistons
