Since Edy is still a prospect, check this out.

Let's compare Walter to Gobert out of Europe.

Gobert was 1st in France in blocks at 1.70. Please note, Gobert was 20 while Walter is 22 and will be 23 at the end of the season. Team was 7th in France. France league is the 7th best league in the world. Spanish Liga is 2nd best. The quality between the two leagues is huge. Edy team is 10th in standings so far.

In 2012-13, Gobert avg 21.4 MPG, shot at .725%, .70 foul shooter, 5.03 RPG, .37 APG, .67 SPG, 1.70 BPG and 8.10 PPG.
In 2014-15, Tavares avg 21.5 MPG, shot at .592%, .67 foul shooter, 7.00 RPG, .50 APG, .55 SPG, 2.05 BPG and 6.90 PPG.

While we have seen great increase this month in Edy's stats but overall. At the age of 20, Rudy seemed to be a better scorer while Edy is a better rebounder and shot blocker. Also a better all around defender. Now we must remember, the Spanish Liga is much better than France ligue.

I am impressed with Edy as I was impressed with Rudy. Rudy has become of the best players from his 2013 class with Victor O, Giannis, Dennis S. and Nerlens Noel. Edy could be a special defensive player. Offensively, he has as much potential as Omer Asik. He is still growing leaps Basketball wise. His coach, Pedro Martinez coached Marc Gasol and Tiago Splitter when they were younger.

In addition, he is 3rd in rebounds in La Liga
1st in blocks in La Liga
Look at his split in December. He is avg 10PPG, 8.25 RPG, 2.75 BPG, 1.25 APG, shooting .727%, while only avg 2.50 FPG and a FIC score of 14.09 playing 23.7 MPG.

FWIW, Booker isn't anywhere close to competing for mintues with Kanter. Kanter is averaging 19 and 9 in his last 5 starts. He'd have more boards too, but Gobert keeps taking all the defensive rebounds.

Kanter is making big strides in his development right now.

He is very active, is showing better instincts on defense and will thrive as a post defender in the league. Still has room for improvement on both ends, but his activity level was great in international play and he really disrupted Spain when they went head to head. No reason to sit him this year.

Great call! I love the fact that this was posted on the 27th. Rudy's draft# and jersey #. Because of the fact that Utah is struggling, Rudy is still under the radar a bit, but I suspect by the end of the season, the rest of the league will know what Jazz fans already know, that Rudy has emerged as a formidable defensive presence. Utah hit the jackpot with this kid.
