ugh just makes me think of SVG comments about our team. Why did he emphasize how much talent we have? "they're talented. They're very, very talented."
If a coach like him can see it then i have to think others can too and we can find a better coach for our team. I just want him gone SO badly. :(

I hope Elfrid is okay. He is our only player who has played all our games so far. He needs every minute of game experience he can get.

no...?

Mark Jackson could teach Payton a lot about being a Point Guard imo, top 5 All-time Assists. Plus i highly doubt that his x's and o's could be worse than JV and i think he would have no problem getting the respect of the players. Either way i'll be fine as long as JV is gone or out of the head coach position. Make him an ambassador or something or stick him in sales

It's clear we have no leader. Everyone is looking for guidance on and off the court. The only guy I saw get anyone to do anything since SVG left was the trainer who had our rooks in top shape before leaving for a new gig in Houston.

I don't think we have vets that will really kick anyone's butt into gear. Channing Frye knows what up but he's like a dad. Ben Gordon is like a quiet assassin. Luke Ridnour has never said a stern word in his life.

Tobias and Oladipo were supposed to be our leaders, right? Oladipo is way too quiet and introverted for this. The best he can do is bring energy every night. Tobias is going through his own issues with a contract year and butting heads with our dumb coach. Vucevic hasn't stepped up and probably doesn't plan to.

There's no one here to hold anyone accountable.

Dipo is quiet and introverted? He's a ham, so i don't think that. He may be too much of a friend to be a leader though. Idk, this is needed and i think JV wants Payton to take this role. I saw an interview of EP saying something about the hardest thing about being a rook in the league was leading men older than him, and another from before the draft where he was saying some coach told him he needs to be a vocal leader. It's a work in progress but the team is so young that i wouldn't expect that to be established right now.

Everyone has to be looked at as an asset. I am only looking to trade Harris if we're going to get our rim-protecting/starting PF for the next decade.

I'm pretty cold on Tobias after being very keen to keep him early on. It's just not coming together for him, but you have to think a lot of that is the lack of a system JV runs.

Yeah Tobes came out trying too hard, but he did that in the game before as well. You could say he is trying to ball out due to being out so long just as well as you could say that he was showing out for Knicks officials. I don't know, i guess i just want to see him under a good coach before i say good riddance.

I also feel that way about Nicholson too. ( want to see with smart coaching)

Just finished watching the game, Not ready to overreact to this, first of all the Knicks were making a lot of shots they werent supposed to make while we missed a lot of easy shots, we got great looks almost each possession but the players werent hitting.

7-27 from three with half of the misses from wide open looks, Fournier, Harris and Oladipo would probably hit over 50% of their wide open looks, tonight they went 1/14, thats the game right there, that and Smith going 3-4 from three after not making one for 3 years is where the game was decided.

We had a bunch of breakdowns defensively but thats mostly because they changed the pick n roll defense tonight and started hedging which they havent done for a while, Vuc and Kyle were making some basic mistakes and allowed the PG to get to the basket but you cant expect otherwise after getting used to a different defensive scheme.

Its becoming clear that Luke is not a PG, he doesnt run the offense at all, he played 8 minutes and was minus 10, BG struggled a bit in the first half and than didnt play again, this is so silly, its an 11 year veteran that was playing great for us and now JV is toying with his mintues like hes on a 10 day contract, how is he supposed to play better after this? same with pretty much every player on the team except Vuc.
JV doesnt show any faith in the players, if someone plays for 6 mintues and makes a few mistakes hes done for the night, that terrible for young players, let them play through it to build their confidence and chemistry with eachother.

Fournier was playing great as a starter, as soon as he lost his starting role hes been struggling and started to do too much before he gets benched, Harris played that way tonight as well and so did BG because the players have no idea if they will return to the game so they have to make their minutes count and force plays, I still dont see any problem with this team that cant be solved with a better coach and a decent rim protector at the 4.

Anyone realistic around the league fit this description?

It's not just this game for me it's a combination of a lot of things. Of course as you say he could look different under a new coach but he would still have to be here for that to happen. Now i'm sure it's just posturing but someone from his camp leaking that he wants to "win a championship with the Knicks" did not rub me the right way. We'll see what happens but things are starting to upset my stomach so to speak, my gut is telling me to be wary of Tobias. Right now to me he deserves a nice little contract but no way near a max deal

Not really. Only two guys fit that criteria: Favors and Ibaka.

Mike D'Antoni's fast game coaching style would really suit this team.
