There is no reasonable explanation for not playing JJ, when everyone else on the team is playing like complete garbage. JJ has stayed consistent through this whole rough patch. Leo Rautins says there are "other factors in play right now," so maybe there is something that we do not know...

You are just like the guy in the other thread. Stop contradicting yourself and making baseless assumptions to further your narrative of Casey. You claim there is no reasonable explanation for him not playing and then immediately point out the fact that Leo has mentioned that there are other factors at play. Is it all possible that those other factors are the reasonable explanation? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
This isn't rocket science.

By quoting Leo, I'm giving Casey the benefit of the doubt. But, to me and you he is not playing JJ because he does not want to. Any other claims as to why JJ is not playing are purely speculation. The fact is JJ is not playing and Casey has not publicly given a reason as to why. What do you expect people to think of him, when is not playing one of the team's best bench guys?

I respect the fact that Casey isn't saying anything despite knowing that people like you are going to questions him and call him stupid. Would you rather Casey put out their business in public? How do you think that will do for team morale?

And what's the agenda? If the agenda is a player who has played for 6 different coaches and 4 different teams and has never cracked 20mpg for any of them except when he has played for the Raps/Casey, then I guess you could say the Raps agenda is to use him more than any other team/coach ever has.

Why hasn't the media gone after this situation, got to the bottom of it? Why haven't the radio and tv announcers? JJwas paying great, providing good defense and surprising offence this year when the teram was winning. He looks to me , on tv, to be into the gam eand cheering teammates from the sideline, and on the court. What is going on here?

I think his best positio is at the 3. Enough of this small ball, play Demar at the 2, JJ at 3, and go from there.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

I don't think theres another player in the nba with his level of efficient scoring who's just dropped out of the lineup. And his defense isn't bad. Strange.

For whatever reason, Casey really doesn't like James Johnson as a person, it could be because he's a bad teammate and his teammates do not like him. Kind of odd reporters don't ask Casey and the players why does Casey does not like JJ.

There is no room for a SF in a 4-guard offence.

Could you then tell me why James Johnson was playing 22 minutes a game under David Joerger pre-all star break and post all-star break, he plays 13 minutes a game?

Let's not forget, their starting SF was Tayshaun Prince. In the playoffs, JJ was essentially MIA

Has the city of Memphis solved that riddle?

Judging by his instagram interaction with teammates, being at Kyle's house when they were in Philly, his teammates jumping to his defense when Drummond nailed him, and him being a total cheerleader on the bench, I'd say he's cool with most everyone on the team.

Everything is Casey's fault. When the raps win, its caseys fault. 25-15, its caseys fault. 3rd seed its casey fault. Make the playoffs its casey's fault.

this team is way too deep and too good...a 21 PER big can only get 26min, and a 18 PER wing cant even crack the rotation

It happens all the time around the league, go look at any roster and you'll find one if not more of those guys ie: efficient scorer, decent to good defender, but is in and out of the lineup (some DNPs, some 10min nights, some 25+min nights).

It remains hilarious that some are actually defending this lineup construction.

Only in Raptors lala land where your coach preaches defence and rewards the worst defending wing 30+ minutes and punishes the best wing defender with less than 10 mins..there's accountability for you

JJ was barely the same player last year. His shot selection has been excellent this year, unlike last year.

Besides, the Grizzlies are the best defensive team in the league that needs some spacing. It's why they signed Vince Carter instead of re-signing JJ. We are a horrid defensive team that needs players who attack the paint.

Only logic to sit him is because he has some maturity/behaviour locker room issues. Its not like this is the first time in his career. If that is the case we need to ship him for someoen that can bring similar skills.

JJ clearly turned around his career last season with the Grizzlies. Ask any Memphis fan and they will tell you he was incredible for them. Who turned their season around?? James Johnson.

JJ had a TS% of .552
Tayshaun Prince doesn't provide spacing and had a TS% of .438. No one on our current team has a TS% remotely as bad as Prince's.

Post All-Star Break, JJ is averaging 13 MPG and Prince is averaging 24 MPG.

Prince - ORTG 97, DRTG 108
JJ - ORTG 110, DRTG 101

So why did Joerger play Prince over JJ?
