Is there a better young center prospect than Kanter who might be available?

Newz wrote:The only role I'd try to fill on this team is a long-term solution at center. I'd be willing to trade any of our assets besides Giannis, Jabari and Middleton to get a legitimate starting center that's under 25-26 years of age. Not sure if there are any candidates out there that fit the bill that would actually be traded. If we did trade for them I'd want to make sure that we would be able to retain them in free agency and/or they are already locked up on a long-term deal.
Depending on the quality of the player we are getting back I might even be willing to throw in our first as well.
If we could lock down our long-term starting five to Middleton, Giannis, Jabari and a legit young C... that would be amazing, because PGs are a dime-a-dozen in the NBA these days.
Koufos?

Re: Trade Targets
Bill Simmons was fanning the Nuggets flames on his podcast yesterday. Thinks they should blow the whole team up. Then Zach Lowe said that's fine, but they need to get meaningful assets back. Lowe wasn't sure meaningful assets would come back, hence Denver would hang onto their guys.

Not a trade...
Just think of the potentially good conundrums ahead in the off-season: the returns of Parker, Marshall, and Inglis from the wounded list - we hope..... along with the current two first round picks. I'm looking for the glass being more than half-full here....

If we can wait till the offseason, there's a decent chance Noel becomes available, depending on how the lottery plays out.

Might be a dumb question but did I miss something huge that went down? We only have one first rounder this year as far as I know. Are you talking about the clippers 2017 pick?

Some kind of three way deal? I don't think they'd want what we are willing to give up.

Just an observation of how the off-season will stack up compared to other years. It's pretty loaded, as long as you view Parker's year as a mulligan - AND he returns in good form (I didn't know where else to put that thought)

I think he's referring to your "two first round picks" part. That LAC 1st is in 2017, if that's what you're referring to.

Jizztacular. Throw some dollars at Beverly and we're good. Needs the stars to mature on offense to be contenders but that D is challenging the Warriors from next season:
Beverly
Middleton
Parker
Giannis
Noel

I'm with it. Beverly or Calathes. I think I may go Calathes at the moment. Also resign Marshall.
Recoup the 1st via Knight.

I like Calathes but wanted to see more growth in his long ball. If we got a first back I'd still go for Beverly or Delly as a third guard and shoot for Tyus Jones or whoever else fits the bill in the draft.

Philly isn't trading Noel for Henson and a mid first.

Re: Trade Targets
I like the combo of Zaza and Henson at Center moving forward, and I think that should be our plan. I would rather look at PF off the bench to get that guy who has solid inside scoring ability and overall plays more like a junkyard dog. I think we can get that from Harrell in the draft.
At the deadline I would almost be looking to move Zaza and Mayo as a package to get someone like Koufas or Kanter. Or just wait for free agency and move Zaza at the draft for the best asset available.
All I know is that the way we are playing atm does not seem to relate to any one individual and is instead predicated on how well we play as a team. Because of this I think we can honestly trade just about anyone on the roster (I obviously would not do that) and not falter a single beat.

My mistake. I was thinking the Clippers pick is this year

Never. Could u imagine Philly trying to sell that move to their fans? Even if it made basketball sense (which it doesn't), selling that move to the fans would be damn near impossible.

No, probably not. Would be nice though.
