Wizards, Heat Interested In Trade For Jameer Nelson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 13, 2015 12:09 am

The Washington Wizards and Miami Heat have explored trade talks with the Denver Nuggets on Jameer Nelson, sources tell RealGM.

The Cleveland Cavaliers had interest in Nelson when the Boston Celtics were offering him in trade scenarios, but not since.

Nelson began the season with the Dallas Mavericks.

Has any player played for four different teams in one season?

I'm pulling for Jameer. As hard as he's had it recently he would be an upgrade for the Heat.

I would guess so. I think Rasheed Wallace scored something like 20+ points for three different teams in three straight games... or something to that effect.

Would be a great pickup for Miami and good mentor to Napier. Miami could then focus on trying to deal Cole.

Off season is different. Quentin actually has never played for more than one team during the season.

I'm sure there's been some random free agents that were cut and picked up by a few different teams

He was horrible in Dallas as a starter, but I think he can be an above average back up PG on any team. He's also professional and seems like a good man overall. It would be a shame if he left Orlando to just miss the playoffs as a member of another team.

Meer is a great locker room vet and solid backup PG at this point in his career. I was happy to see him go to a po contender like Dallas, then sad to see him go to Boston and Denver, so I'm definitely hoping a team like Was picks him up.

Had to research the Wallace comment.

Back in 2004, he played for the following in a 3 game stretch and scored this many points:
2/08 With Blazers 14 points
2/18 with Hawks 20 points on 8/24 FG (muthachuckin it)
2/20 with Pistons 4 points in only 12 minutes

Tony Massenburg came to mind and confirmed he did in fact play for 4 teams back in 91-92.

Spurs 1 game
Hornets 3 games
Celtics 7 games
Warriors 7 games

The days of studying the back of basketball cards is finally paying off a little.

That's why I said "I think" and "something to that effect." It could have been that he scored 20 for three teams in a season or averaged 20 for three teams in a season. I don't remember and it wasn't worth looking it up. Point is, there was an obscure stat about his situation that reminded me that he played on three teams in one season. He also got his ring that season.

No worries bud. Your comment sparked my interest to research a little further. 0 intent to disprove anything you said. I actually thought he played more than one game with the Hawks myself.
