That Woelfel tweet is literally probably this guy's only source. Let that tell you something. People like this jump on nuggets of likely BS info like that and then put their little spin on it. Suddenly "where there's smoke there's fire," when the smoke all traces back to one place.

That's not to say this couldn't happen. In fact, it's one of the likelier deals out there given the teams' needs and desires. That's part of what goes into this brand of attention seeking sadness.

...however, he said he spoke to Stauskas specifically about Milwaukee, and Nik said some pretty candid stuff.

When Gery told him he's heard Milwaukee had some interest in him, Stauskas said he'd heard that as well. Gery then asked if Nik would be surprised if he was traded to the Bucks and Nik responded, "wouldn't surprise me at all."

Weird. I've never seen an athlete be so candid about what was thought to be speculation. If this was just Gery saying he heard a rumor id pay it no mind but straight from the horse's mouth, it got me a little excited. Gonna be really disappointed when we sit on our hands at the deadline. Haha.

Not saying it's a done deal, but the direct quote from Stauskas tells me there's at least been some serious discussion.

I was sorta under the impression that players are hardly, if ever, consulted on trades, and certainly not when they're in the early discussion stages. Obviously a player gets some heads up on his destination when a deal is finalized, but it seems sort of weird that Stauskas would know anything about being traded (to Milwaukee) other than he himself perusing RealGM and the interwebz.

In your proposed deal we're dealing the 2 best players in the deal and a 1st.

It wasn't my proposed deal, really, it was "RJ"'s.

And I don't by any means agree that we'd be trading the best two players in terms of perceived ability around the league right now. I'd rank them in that category: 1. Knight, 2. Collison, 3. Lil' Mac, 4. Ers, 5. JT, 6. Staus, 7. JOB. And we'd be trowin' in the Clips' maybe 20's 1st and a couple 2nds. It doesn't seem way off base to me, and if you think we're holding the two best cards in the deal, that's great to me because that increases the chances the deal could actually go down.

Houston was mentioned as a potential destination. I don't have any new info from the rumor mill but Ersan has been firmly on the block all year.

The one offer I know for sure was on the table until Wednesday was the Kings offer of Stauskas and Thompson for Ersan. Bucks were waiting to see what else came up, and also would need to either just flat out cut JoB and Marshall, or make another follow up move to clear the roster space.

We currently have 16 players, and are required to get under 16 by Thursday February 19th at 11:59 EST

I believe Jorge is up by then, so it is possible we just let him walk, but something tells me Kidd gets his way again and Jorge stays. So the above trade puts us at 17 players if we pull the trigger. Adding Thompson means we can safely cut JoB I would think, and then what do you do about that last spot? No real answer, so we may be waiting until the 3pm deadline on Thursday to find out.

I thought I heard or read somewhere that once Jorge's contract is up they probably won't be bringing him back. I get the Kidd narrative but I don't think they end up bringing him back. Now if we could get Stauskas and Thompson for Ersan, that would be HUGE! Just cut JOB and you're on your way. I hate the idea of cutting a rookie but JOB just doesn't seem like an NBA guy. I'm fine with cutting ties. Not like he has a decent amount of upside like Damian Inglis does.

Yet JOB looks more like an NBA guy than Stauskas.

One problem with the Stauskas / Thompson for Ersan deal is that it doesn't clear any salary for us.

If the Rockets or whoever are willing to absorb most of his salary then we might have cap space to be serious players for Koufos / Monroe / Kanter etc.

Folks have been talking about how Kidd can recruit free agents here. If we have an opportunity to give him a shot at that I bet our front office (and / or President Kidd) would value it highly.

If the Lakers really might offer Dragic $20 million a year I don't know who else would trade for him. Maybe the Rockets if they think it gets them a ring.

Suns seem to be feeling the heat.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12320 ... ic-sources
Other suitors for Dragic are sure to emerge, too, even though the Suns' first choice is believed to be pursuing other trades that balance out their guard- and wing-heavy roster and re-establish Dragic as more of an offensive focal point.

"I would take the fifth, generally, on any of these specific trade rumors," Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby told the Arizona Republic. "What I would say is I expect us to be active. And what I mean by that is we're not going to just sit here and wait for the phone to ring.

"We'll be initiating calls to every team, and taking the temperature of what's out there and what's available. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if we do something between now and next Thursday."

Phoenix lost five of its last six games heading into the All-Star break and has seen its lead over No. 9 Oklahoma City dwindle to a half-game in the Western Conference playoff race.

Ok so I know I don't post here often, but I have a source (albeit a third-party) who has info from both the Kings and Bucks side of things. Ersan for Stauskas and Thompson has been on the table for awhile. And the Kings don't view Knight as an upgrade to Collison and I'd be stunned if McLemore was traded. :D

I don't see eye to eye with GiannisParker on many things but if he's sharing any info with us that he hears I'm grateful. Maybe nothing comes of these proposed deals but Staukas' name has been coming up for some time now. Where there's smoke etc...

I've heard Kanter doesn't pass much. Not impressed by his efficiency either. At least it would be a big boost to our rebounding.

Would hate to see Knight AND Kanter start eating up shots from Giannis.

Any insight as to why the Arsen for Stauskas/Thompson trade hasn't been done yet? Is either side trying to expand on it?

Probably because Thompson's contract is worse than Ersan's.

Also, who put it on the table and who is waiting it out? Seems like a no brainer for the Bucks. Arsen is inconsistent and owed a lot of money. Get some needed bulk and a lottery ticket.

Kidd probably nixed the idea since he loves Ersan.
