But, still, if you could make it happen, who are you flipping Stauskas and Randle for?

Ok so this tells me that we can get Randle for Knight/Henson or maybe just Knight. :reporter:

Randle has a For Sale sign hanging around his neck. We are one of the not-so-few teams who can meet the price. But can != should. I would only be behind meeting it -- and doing the Stauskas trade -- if they could be flipped on.

Well yeah nobody should want Randle on this team. Stauskas, I don't know.

Realistically tho, we're not going to move Knight. I'd do it because I don't want to resign him but I think the chances are slim to none that out FO would do that given our position right now. The same with veterans like Dudley or Zaza. I think if we make a trade, it will be more of tweak than a major overhaul of the roster.

So much this. Not that I'm pining for it, but I think with the same touches and minutes, Bayless can give you 75% of the offensive production with probably better efficiency and play making. My dream is that we've given knight the keys to this point hoping to capitalize on a trade by Friday. I realize this is most likely not the case.

Hammond loved Randle pre-draft and we were trying to get that extra pick to acquire him.

I'd have to think Knight or Henson going West along with a pick would be part of this.

I probably will get abused by saying this, but I might do it for Boogie.

Not so much nonsensical as "well, we're already twenty exits down the road, but had we gotten off then, where could we have gone?" but, yes, exploring Randle/Stauskas returns is just an academic exercise at this point.

Many of us would pay big assets for Boogie. But George Karl is old and didn't take that job to do a tank rebuild. I'd have to guess he thinks Cousins and Gay are going to be centerpieces for him.

I remember having nightmares that if the tank job and/or lottery didn't go our way we were going to end up with Randle at #4 or #5.

However, if he cost Knight and the Clips first...

I guess it could work on D if Giannis becomes Bill Russell. Isn't randle just a one handed Jabari without much perimeter game?

Not a big fan of Randle for our team but if all it cost was Knight and the Clipps pick count me in.

Maybe down the road but id imagine Randle is comming off the bench in that situation. In any case i think it be a good/great asset to pick up n u worry about the "problem" of having to many good players at one position later. I wouldnt have a problem with that and while I like Knight id move him for Randle in a second.

I wouldn't put much energy into this. Unless you think they'd think the impact of losing the Randle package is negligible for the rest of the year and future teambuilding -- Randle as a future asset > value than the future value going out? -- or that they'd do it to flip Randle -- the more moving parts, the more unlikely a deal is to happen -- but even then.

Yeah, it was more the drop-off from Wiggins, Parker, and Embiid than anything against Randle.

I don't have a problem with that trade in a vacuum even though I'm not sure Randle fits on this team.

I would actually be really happy if we end up making trades just to clear cap room for next year, even if it doesn't make us better for the playoffs (Ersan, Mayo, Larry!!!). If we can trade Knight for some value also, that would be a blessing in disguise.

I love Cinematographer rolling the Julius Randle ball down the hall here. These deadlines are always great. Nothing was better on this board than that 10am to 2pm period at deadline day in 2013. Less than 72 hours baby!

Would the Lakers be trading Randle to us directly or would we be getting him for facilitating a Dragic deal or something else?
