The Bucks aren't going to trade Knight or any of the players contributing significantly to this playoff run, much less for an injured PF who plays the same position as either Jabarri/Giannis will play going forward. It's just not going to happen.

If a trade happens, i see the odds being very high that it would be minor in say the vein of Ersan going out with also a non-significant piece coming back our way.

This may annoy a certain segment of fans on the RealGM forum, but my guess is that Hammond and especially Kidd would view it as a betrayal to all of the players on the roster who have bought in so unselfishly to what Kidd has asked of them to go out and trade one of those main contributors for say a draft pick and/or a young player who couldn't help now.

If anything, i wouldn't be surprised if instead the team traded say a 2nd round pick for some bench guy on an expiring contract who they thought could potentially help this year.

Yep, I'm just really trying to refrain from letting myself even get the idea in my head. Trade deadline week, the ultimate dreamers week that so often ends in misery.

I'm more then happy with this. Far better result then a dumb win now move.

The countdown clock will not always be accurate. But we do need to hype the fact this deadline finally showed up and will be over quickly. I think RGM should embed that countdown clock in the upper right of the site.

80% of the time he's JOB level lost. In the off chance he's in good position on D he does a nice job using his body to not give up space, but he's usually lost. That being said he's interesting on offense. He got killed coming out because he's the old school 4 that no one wants in todays NBA, but I thought all along his handle and touch were underrated because of that and that he could be an interesting piece.

I wouldn't want to give up much of anything to get him though.

So Ersan/Clippers pick? for Stauskas/Thompson? I don't remember what the Kings deal was.

Followed by:
Bucks: Noel/Clarkson
LA: Knight/JOB
Philly: Randle/Stauskas

Bayless/Clarkson/Mex-Wolters
Middleton/Mayo
Dudley/Middleton
Giannis/Thompson
Henson/Noel/Zaza

I don't know, it's looks better next season with an older Noel starting and Parker back. Still needs a PG, I'd probably try for our first plus Henson to find one in the draft and roll with Thompson and Zaza as backup centers for next season.

It's not just Bucks fans though. Fans of teams around the league will be thinking up all kinds of different trade scenarios, but in the end, very likely only a few trades will end up happening and most if not all will be fairly minor. Hell, RealGM has their own trade board full of countless hypothetical trades and the vast vast majority are a complete waste of typing out with absolutely zero percent chance of really happening.

This happens in most pro sports though. The NHL is pretty much alone in the number of trades which often go down. There used to be lots of trades made at the deadline in baseball and some significant ones, but that rarely is the case anymore.

The reason why is obvious. There can be so much involved in making trades with a salary cap and contracts being as important or more important than swapping talent for talent. In fact, most trades in the NBA today are more about shipping out contracts to clear cap space than anything else.

From the perspective of just a fan i hope a bunch of moves do go down and some significant, but i'd bet against it.

Looks great but I really don't think Kidd wants to commit to guys like Henson or Noel long term at center.

That first deal, I'd ask for Williams' expiring if they want the Clippers pick. Come to think of it, I'd prefer that.

I didn't even look at how much the Kings guy are owed, this isn't usually my thing. :D An expiring works much better. I think a guy like Noel works because of the switching D. Having an athlete who can swap with Giannis and get out on possessions and cover ground on the perimeter when needed would work great IMO.

The offer brought up on here initially was just Ersan for Thompson and Stauskas. Personally I don't think I'd make that trade if LAC 1st was involved. End up losing cap space (not much, ik, but still) for the duration of Ersan's contract as well since JT+Stauskas will cost more in 15-16, 16-17, and then Stauskas contract will obviously still be on the ledger for another season after that. I guess I just don't particularly want Stauskas at all. If he could be flipped, that'd be great though.

Is it safe to say that the Bucks want to sign Knight long term if he's still with us past the deadline?
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Or they want to see if they can hold an asset at a tradable price maybe?
