Utah's gonna have to come down on their price, but if there are indeed "several teams" still interested, then no thanks. What's the point of giving up major assets if you can just float him an offer sheet this summer? I don't see any way the Jazz cripple their salary cap any further after investing such absurd amounts of years and dollars in Hayward, Favors, and Burks.

My guess is that they're desperate to get value for Kanter before the deadline or via sign & trade in the offseason.

Do you think OKC will get a trade done by the deadline?

I'd say 51% chance something happens. But it won't necessarily be a big splash. It may just be a Jeremy Lamb for a second round pick type deal. Something small to maximize an asset for the Thunder. But there's a chance it's larger. Brooklyn should be eager to move one of its big deals and if OKC is the only viable suitor for Lopez, maybe something gets done before the deadline.

I will be livid if we give up significant assets for Lawson.

What's a significant asset though? As long as it's not Giannis/Jabari/Middleton, I am good with it. Those 3 plus Lawson looks really good to me. I wonder if Denver would say yes to Knight for Lawson straight up. If not, I would add the Clips pick.

I'd throw them a 2nd round pick for Lamb.

I don't like Lawson's trajectory the next few years, personally. His ankle issues worry me quite a bit. I'd rather honestly give the Clips first with Mayo for Gibson over sending it for Lawson, if I had to pick one.

Wonder if we could pry McGary from OKC. Given his start, probably not.

Is Sanders completely untradaeble? Would this deal favor us?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q3xu6f6

Milwaukee Trades:

Sanders (4/11)
Ilyasova (3/7.9)

Charlotte Trades:

Lance Stephenson (3/9)
Marvin Williams (2/7)

Exchanging head cases. We cut a year off of each contract, save 2.9 in cap and we have the more usable headcase.

Or are we better off just buying Larry out?

Depending on what you mean by 'significant', I'd be okay with it if we also then flipped Knight for future assets (young player or draft picks). That would be a great balance of now and future.

I wouldn't include any of our firsts, Giannis, Parker, Middleton, or Henson for Lawson. As I said earlier, I just don't like his trajectory much. If it's something like Knight/Ersan/Clips 1st, sure.

Gibson for Mayo makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Bucks Are In The Mix

The Milwaukee Bucks have said repeatedly that they would not give away the future for a playoff run, but given that they are locked into a good situation in the East, they do appear to be willing to deal in order to solidify what they have now and going forward.

The Bucks are one of the teams being linked to Denver’s Ty Lawson. They have also been linked to Chicago’s Taj Gibson, although it may take a lot more to land either of them than Milwaukee has to part with.

The Bucks are trying to buyout big man Larry Sanders, who is going through a tough stretch of personal issues that may sideline him for a while. If the Bucks can open up a roster spot or two they’d be in a position to catch some of the smaller pieces floating around the marketplace.

The two names that get mentioned the most as trade chips for the Bucks are swing man O.J. Mayo and forward Ersan Ilyasova. Both players are valued by the Bucks, so neither is being given away, but both could be the chips that bring real change.

The Bucks are not in desperation mode as they have been over the last few deadlines, but they do seem to be open for business.

This is EXACTLY where we should be as an organization. As I've stated pretty much all year, we're in the driver's seat as far as wheeling and dealing. No need to make panic moves. Trading partners can meet our price or GTFO.

Why is building organically out the window of you move Ersan, Mayo, Knight, Middleton, etc....

Ersan is the one "organic" argument of those 4, but he is not the future. The organic plan the Bucks have is to build around two soon to be stars in Giannis and Parker. Everything and Everyone else are viewed as building blocks to insure that we are the best we can possibly be for the longevity of both Giannis and Parker's careers.

Keeping Middleton is also part of that. Super young elite 3 point shooting and solid D guy. You aren't getting a better, younger player than him in a trade, realistically.

Right. And from what I've seen, they're both really, really, really good RIGHT NOW. So I'd be all for acquiring a 28-year old Ty Lawson. He's currently in the prime of his career. But its not like Giannis and Jabari are "4 years away." So Lawson could be a fit for that "now and for the future" line.

Man I'd be all over McGary. I'd kick them our 1st and something for him. I love him as a player and think he's a great fit on this team.

I have one true untouchable on our team: Giannis.
Parker and Middleton are both close to untouchable. It would take far more than teams would be willing to give up to get either of them.
I could be sold on trading anyone not named Giannis, Parker, or Middleton.

Henson/Clips 1st. Do that all day.
