Didn't you watch Entourage? Kidd has people to keep the phones humming. People like E (Hammond) and Turtle (Morway). Then you've got LED/Alex as the Ari character. In the end Kidd will get what he wants and he'll negotiate it personally if he has to.

Put it this way, if they have a trade in the works, Kidd will be involved. IMO he gives the final say if it does/doesn't go down.

I don't care if he's on a golf course or parasailing over the Pacific, they will reach him and his voice will be heard.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Emmuney,

I think this all time ridiculous argument is interesting in that on one hand, the pro Middleton crowd is basically saying that we found one of the guys you are talking about, found a guy who fits, and contributes, and is worth keeping around. The Exum side is interesting in that there is a valid recognition that we still need way more talent, even if it is unproven. Like most real world arguments, there is some truth to both of those sides. Like most real gm arguments, it will all be rendered inconsequential the second a better rumor leaks out.

Guys--this is one of the more epic threads we've ever had. And it's going another 100-150 pages in the next 22 hours.

Is it weird that not a single trade has happened this week? I recall that in past years little deals would pop-up here and there in the days leading up to the deadline.

Jazz fan here.....coming in peace. Don't waste your time....no offense...Utah will not trade Exum.

Middleton is good.

Utah wants to know what is a fair offer for Kanter?

Kanter for Middleton.....and filler?

Do you like Burke?

That's exactly it. We aren't drafting high lotto anymore unless Giannis goes down for the season next November.

Giannis will be an all-star. Middleton is booming. Jabari is a complete wildcard with his health.

We need that one more move where we get an all-star or close to all-star guy who is undervalued. Given that the cap is going up for everyone, I think free agency will now be a fool's game with massive overpayments. This last piece has to come in trade.

If I had to bet, I don't think Kanter, Stauskas or Reggie Jackson will turn into that guy. But I have no problem with us using some assets to acquire those guy(s) because they are the profile of the younger player who could bust out in Kidd's system.

Exactly... The days of lottery picks and taking shoot for the moon risks based on a player's potential are extremely numbered due to the emergence of the currently assembled core.

Just want Ersan cleared. No interest in Kanter/Jackson at what they are rumored to be going for, since I don't view either as big impact guys, and both are FA. Clear Ersan, go into the offseason with $20.7M in cap space, and several options to improve the roster.

I can't come up with a deal that makes sense between the two teams. The Clippers first and Ilyasova is the best I could do and I wouldn't like that if I were Utah.

Middleton isn't in the discussion.

No way on anything involving Middleton. None.

Henson and the Clippers pick is probably the best I'd offer and 80% of this board wouldn't do that.

Utah won't trade Exum, they have zero reason to do so.

Ersan/LAC 1st is about as good of an offer I could stomach without having a full blown meltdown about trading for Kanter. Take it or leave it, Middleton and Henson are off the table as far as I am concerned.

kidd probably has veto power and makes a lot of suggestions. his moves are obvious. all the rest, like the Dudley trade and most of what were hearing now, is just as obviously NOT his too.

Any trade involving Middleton better net us something close to a star, a star, or a stud prospect. This might be a case where we're overrating our own players, but honestly I don't think it is.

Not a free agent signing I can see without us giving up an asset. I don't see how Middleton for ??? will make our team better in the short term for the last half season and playoffs. What about free agent pickup now that Larry is out of the picture. Jeff Adrien, Austin Daye, and a swing for the fences play for Ray Allen are on my shortlist.
