Didn't you watch Entourage? Kidd has people to keep the phones humming. People like E (Hammond) and Turtle (Morway). Then you've got LED/Alex as the Ari character. In the end Kidd will get what he wants and he'll negotiate it personally if he has to.

kidd probably has veto power and makes a lot of suggestions. his moves are obvious. all the rest, like the Dudley trade and most of what were hearing now, is just as obviously NOT his too.

Kanter is Kidd's target according to the rumor of him developing interest after seeing him twice this year and that's the big deal being discussed here. Like it or not (the Kanter aspect). I think that Hammond and Kidd are both in charge to some degree.

Middleton's shot is elite now. When you can tell me what Kanter does that's elite, I'll be all ears.

Middleton shot at this rate for 45 games last year as well, then fell of quite a bit.

I do like Middleton, said that numerous times, but Kanter could become a 18-9 guy, and the paint is important.

Pay Middleton 10m to shoot, or pay Kanter 10m to rebound and score, I will pay the guy who gives me more than one thing. I do not believe this hype on Middleton on the defensive end personally, because I have faith that the system is what makes these guys look good, not their individual talents.

I like Kanter's potential and have been advocating we give him a look for a while. But if you don't think Middleton is a good defender, you have exposed yourself as someone who either doesn't watch the games or doesn't understand basketball very much.

Kidd's defensive system is actually more difficult to play in most ways than more conventional styles, not that it is dramatically different. But Kris is asked to switch more and to cover more ground than most perimeter defenders. That doesn't mean he is getting by on gimmicks and scheme, it means he is earning a reputation as a great defender being asked to do even more than most.

Whatever the opinion, this team would be very well off to move into the future with this:

Knight-Middleton-Parker-Giannis-Kanter

I like Henson more than Kanter with that starting five. Unless the rule changes and we can play with three basketballs.

I don't make this trade. Hood is essentially a no defense, no shot version of Middleton, and Lawson coming in with Knight still on the roster does nothing for me.

Henson is not better than Kanter and that is where the delusion needs to stop. Henson is pretty clearly a bench player moving forward.

henson = kanter

except Henson can protect the rim just a lil bit

who cares if Kanter looks better shirtless?

yes... Henson figured it out. kanter with whatever the talent gap is hasn't. and this is a really big deal when were talking about it being 4 years into a players career.

Who would play better with Giannis? Kanter or henson?

offense, kanter. kanter is a much better offensive player than henson and actually can shoot outside of 3 feet with a left handed hook.

defense, henson. its probably closer than people think though.

I think Henson is garbage and I'd hesitate to deal him and the Clips 1st for Kanter. Kanter has his flaws too.

The best deal I'd offer for RFA Kanter is Ilyasova/Clips 1st.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Sometimes the reward is in the process. I still remember when Europa thought he heard we were trading RJ and Ridnour to Portland for Raef, Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriquez or some variation of it at the deadline in 2009. We went 30 pages in an hour on that one.
