My personal goal, find any way possible to cut another 7-8m off our cap for next season, and just offer Kanter a deal, but if we really want him, not going to hate the Bucks for the trade they decide to make, that is just foolish. Trust is key gentlemen, trust is key.

I will be so pissed if we give up Middleton for Kanter... But Henson, I could live with.

I don't think anyone advocating for Kanter is suggesting that he is a "win now" or fully developed prospect. Those familiar with his story would tell you that he had to sit out two of his most important developmental years due to transfer and eligibility issues. I am guessing that if the Bucks are truly interested in this guy, they are with the understanding that developmentally he is a year or two behind the standard curve. I'm not saying he will magically overcome the deficiencies he has shown so far, but it is not unreasonable to assume that he will still make improvements in defensive understanding and positioning, as well as overall offensive impact. Bogut was a fairly recent example of a young big that came in without a clue on defense, was all but given up on by his first fanbase as a rim protector, and went on to become an excellent defender. Not saying Kanter is Bogut, just pointing out that we have seen it happen late and unexpectedly.

There are obviously a lot of red flags on this guy. And I get why most are freaking out. But I am a little surprised that more posters are not at least a little intrigued with his skills and upside. I mean, those are two things that fuel this place's draft fervor from April-June.

What is the likelihood a deal for Kanter is made if you had to put a % on it right now?

Likely impossible for him to say since it depends on if Utah accepts our Henson offer. I hope we just stand pat and don't offer anything else.

If Kanter averages 18 and 10 Giannis wouldn't be getting the ball at all. Period. Dude doesn't even average 1 assist.

The guys that fuel that fire aren't four year into the league with little to no improvement. Hoping Kanter gets it is the same argument as the Brandon Jennings could turn into Chauncey Billups arguments of the past.

But Giannis has been handling (over Knight running point) in the half court with greater frequency as the games roll along.

30% I think the Jazz are nuts with their asking price.

In 8 hours I've used up 82% of my data refreshing this damn thread because our work WiFi is sketch today...still have to stretch out the remaining 18% until 3/11. And its been essentially the same banter all day. FML and F RGM for nothing to grab onto...

EDIT: Where do I send expense receipts when something does go down and I'm forced to keep up on the 80pg pros/cons on the TPE we acquire?

I don't even have the stamina to catch up like that anymore. At some point I have to scroll through the meaningless arguments just to look for tweets.

Not true for one, but secondly, to this point Giannis does not look like he will ever be a dominant scoring type of guy. He seems more like that Jack of All trades that will greatly impact the game in many facets. Some games he will give you 25 points, the next game he will give you 10 but also give you 15 rebounds and 5 blocks.

The theory of usage used around he is wrong. The starters do not play all of their minutes together, this is why 4 high usage players works, and if you check all winning teams, they also have 4 high usage players.

Giannis has an unreliable jump shot. That's why he hands off and picks so much. He's pretty aggressive for a skinny, drive-heavy player. He's driving right into defenders backing up. You expect him to do that a ton throughout the game and be a big scorer right now that way, especially at 19-20? Oh yeah, he's 19-20, so it's pretty unwise to pigeon hole the kid at this point.

Anyways, Giannis doesn't only supply scoring, but passing as well. So ball dominators like Knight and Kanter could potentially be bad for him, and in turn the team.

So you expect Kanter to change how he plays?

He does not score very efficiently. Even beyond that, he does not pass which is a huge component of Offensive Basketball and is weak defensively which is 1/2 the game.

Kanter seems to do 1 thing well out of like 6 or 7 (Rebound)

Kanter and Knight with Giannis would be frustrating to watch.

Kanter for Ersan and the Clips 1st I'm fine with. That's worth a flyer on.

Anything else and the answer would be pass.

I still would like the Bucks to focus back on the JT/Stauskas stuff. I can't believe Ersan gets that package, but maybe.

I can't imagine how bad Defensively a starting Front Court with Kanter and Jabari would be. We would need MJ and Pippen caliber wing defenders to compensate.
