This team would be fun as hell next year:
PG: Lawson
SG: Knight
SF: Middleton
PF: Jabari
C: Giannis

He's the biggest player on our team. I want him at the four but I agree this lineup would be pretty fun

Bernman wrote:It would be much more sensible to have a plan in place that doesn't include Tyus Jones, and then be pleasantly surprised if he falls in to our laps. Because it probably won't happen. Bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. Pull the trigger on Lawson/Arthur for some 2-player combo of Knight/Ilyasova/Henson, maybe with a 2nd or Clips' 1st thrown in if on the table. And maybe we could incorporate the Kings into this too because we know they've loved Ersan and Knight at different times in the past year. We could possibly get one or both of the Stauskas/Thompson package coming back our way.

When it comes to Ersan and trades, people here often like to say X team or teams used to like him, so lets try to trade him to one of those teams.

Well sure, there were teams that used to like him and with good reason when Ersan was rebounding well and hitting 45% from three, but now he's a shell of that guy on the court and he's been struggling with various injuries. His 8 million owed next year no longer looks appealing. So if i'm a team around the league, i'd view Ersan as a net negative asset. The only way i see the Bucks being able to trade him is if we took back a similar negative asset back.

Giannis best position is 4/5.
Not a fan of mini guard lineups. If we get Lawson I say bye bye Knight. Just wish we would trade him instead of letting him walk.

He is best at the 4 but Jabari can only play 4 IMO. Giannis can play C against most teams.

I don't like small guards together either but Knight isn't overly small. He won't get abused in the post or anything and he rebounds extremely well. They would get a lot of steals.

Weird.
15 hours to deadline & the top wiretap article is Wizards interested in trade for Norris (freaking) Cole.

We would get brutalized in the post though, it wouldn't be pretty.

We would have to adjust against Memphis and Washington and Houston...but it would be fine against 80% of the league. Those games you just play your true backup center a lot more.

We're not going to get Lawson/Arthur for Henson/Clips' lotto protected 1st (maybe 2nd). They might do Henson/Stauskas for just Lawson. We'd get Lawson/Thompson. And the Kings get just Ilyasova like they wanted. lol

I might try to make it a 4-way and get Kanter/Collison too for Knight/Clips' 1st (maybe 2nd)/filler to round out the roster. But I'm probably dreaming there, not because it's that unreasonable from other team's perspectives necessarily, but ours seems to have an unhealthy infatuation with Knight.

I love this trade for the Bucks. No way it happens.

Here is the actual deal, I misclicked Bayless into it instead of Henson.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qhhckec

As I noted above, Nuggets also get Clips 2017 1st and the Kings 2016 1st (top 7 protected)

Giannis can't be a C. He's nice at PF, taking advantage of slower bigs but C is a stretch. There aren't a heap of big rugged C's anymore I know, but he would still take a beating at that spot and just isn't big / strong enough to battle at that spot for 82 games. Do you guys want our most promising player playing out of position and getting smashed around every night?

List of teams with starting Cs who would be too much for Giannis:

Grizzlies
Wolves
Kings
Warriors
Bulls
Pistons
Rockets
Clippers
Magic
Nets
Hornets
Pacers
Wizards

And then there are teams like Toronto, Dallas, New Orleans, Portland etc that have big athletic C's that would be tough to box out all game and defend at the rim constantly. It also take away from Giannis being able to get out in transition.

Giannis at C is a horrible idea IMO.

The "Ersan for Thompson/Stauskas" stuff sounds a lot like the wishful Ersan crap in the past. There'd almost have to be a first going out in that deal.
