Even if we don't do the KG deal... that package is wonderful. I can't wait to have a PG who actually cares, is young, athletic and aggressive. Everything we hoped Dwill was going to be. Let Brook help OKC, i bet he'll do perfectly fine there and honestly I wish him all the best, but over there, not here.

maybe you cant blame king if okc pulls out now.... BUT reports are okc and char thought they had a deal last month, you can certainly blame him for that

utah has exum and burke. dont see that as a great swap without getting someone else involved. although they could expand it to burke/kanter for reggie/Mitch

Let's do it.

I have no problem with anyone who wants to rebuild. But pretending that this trash of a lineup you just listed is something to be excited about is delusional. Unless you are a Hawks fan there is nothing to be excited about here. Disappointment and blind hatred for Lopez and D.Will has clouded all sense of perception around here. These moves are not improvements. They are salary dumps pure and simple. Overrated mediocre coach with an even worse roster. Don't fool yourselves. You think its been bad? Wait! The dark days have yet to come my friends.

YOU KNOW, I called that before hand too... I thought Kanter would've been a better option for OKC to begin with vs Lopez(both terms of play n process of acquiring player)

It's more athletic than what we have now, and honestly getting younger players is a lot better than staying pat and watching this garbage roster wallow away like they have all season long. Deron Williams is a dog, and Lopez is not even overrated anymore, he's a one dimensional soft player who doesn't make the team any better when he's on the floor or without him.

Excited? I would say I'm excited to see the team regaining flexibility and getting two young players in light of us not having draft picks. I'm looking ahead, what are you looking at??

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing too.

Regardless of whether the deal goes through, the fact that OKC is now strongly considering giving up Jackson, PJ3 and Perk for what was Lamb, PJ3, and Perk is a big change.

Credit King for waiting on what he believed would be an improved offer.

that team isnt great, but you dont need to be great to get the 8 seed. we are what 1 game out despite being 21-31? I dont think anyone is excited because this team is gonna get to the playoffs and upset atlanta or washington or cleveland. Or that anyone thinks reggie jackson will be harden and a guy you can build around...

I think the perception is not making this trade means we likely dont make the playoffs, and this at worst has us there still fighting for it. and gives us a more exciting product to watch at the mean time, or at least something new to watch the rest of the year.

And a salary dump isnt the worst thing. gaining the ability to S&T, full MLE, BAE helps our flexibility a bit. Lopez and KG were not part of the short term future anyhow, both would likely be let expire if they stuck around.

I'm not sure what dark days are ahead.... at 21-31, one of the leagues worst records in Jan/Feb, all 3 our best players struggling with play, health and 2 no longer starting. i mean, to me it doesnt get much worse.

I'm VERY happy we will ahve some athletes i can watch and maybe a more uptempo style. i like our chances to stay in the race for the 8 seed. after all we would still be built aroud deron/joe/mason and i cant see jackson being much worse then jack.

but mainly... the plan doesnt change: Don't take on salary into 16-17, make minor moves where you can to get under the tax or add youth/athleticism prior, then do what you can with your assets and space and reshape the face of the team in 2 years.

2015-16 was always going to be a year we took our lumps. i think making a playoff push this year is something that is critical and i think we at least changed gears to try and do that with these 2 trades if they happen. also it gives us a more exciting team to watch next year when we do have to take those lumps

I don't think Jackson is worth committing to for the long term. He doesn't have court vision and should never be considering anything close to a cornerstone like reports are suggesting.

However, I think people are more excited about the implications of the deal for the future more so than what happens now. Personally, I'd rather get the 8th seed (just to ensure ATL has no shot at miraculously coming up with the #1 pick) and be under the tax so we can do S&Ts and have the MLE/BAE for next year and 2016.

If we stand pat, we might make the playoffs but we will still be locked up for 2015 and we really need to avoid the repeater tax for 2016.

This is all about the future.

it offered players who want to be here that the fans could get behind as well as zellar, a ok young player on a rookie deal. It also dealt from strength(C) to fill our weakest spot (SG) and being just 1 game out of the playoffs, maybe that makes the difference.

i dont think 6M in salary relief, Zeller, and a flyer on lance while balancing the roster is nothing. its not adding a star you can building around, but it certainly isnt nothing. It also rids of of lopez, who this year and last year we have been better without and whom some fans cant stand watching
