Brandon Knight
Langston Galloway
Melo
Kevin Love
Kosta Kufos

bench: Karl-Anthony Towns, Calderon, Gary Neal, Brandon Bass

Kufos is the fringe starter until Towns is ready to start full time. Still leaves us flexible for free agency 2016.
IMO KLove is frustrated with the backseat aka Chris Bosh role he has and whats a better place to say "take that Lebron" than in a knick uniform?

This isn't the dream big mentality type of dream, but I think this team would win a lot of games and start the momentum toward a contender:

On draft night:
- Take Okafur 1st / Russell 2nd / Mudiaye 3rd / Towns 4th
- Trade for Gibson / pick somehwere in the 20's / draft Christian Wood

In FA
- sign Danny Green 4 yrs 24 mil
- sign Koufos 3 yrs 24 mil
- sign Beverly 3 yrs 24 mi
- use the room exception on whatever PJax feels we need.

Beverly / Green / Melo / Gibson / Koufus
Our pick Calderon THJ CEarly Thanos Wood

I know this topic is about "dream" lineups but can we at least post signings that fit our projected 25mil cap space?

C'mon you know that's completely illegal/impossible.

tell that to Pat Riley

but in all seriousness isn't the draft after free agents are able to be approached by GMs?

Usually the Draft happens first and then the free agency period begins. NBA draft is June 25th. Free agents aren't allowed to start negotiating...openly...until July 1. Free agents can't sign until July 6.

Nah, the draft is June 25th. Free agency starts July 1st, contracts can be signed by like July 7th. It'd be tampering. I'm not saying some back channel stuff doesn't happen, but there's no way you get an actual agreement that early.

Not my "dream lineups" but here are some I think could be realistic:

Galloway / Cory Joseph
Matthews or Afflalo or Green
Melo
Millsap
Towns

Russell
Matthews or Afflalo or Green
Melo
Amir Johnson/ Ed Davis
Koufos

Galloway
Matthews or Afflalo or Green
Melo / Demarre Carroll
Draymond
Okafor

Really depends on who we draft and fill out the team, but those would be some of the new blood. Not expecting to nab any big fish. Even 2nd tier guys like Millsap, Draymond, Matthews, are long shots.

Jahlil Okafor drafted 1st overall
Karl Anthony Towns drafted 4th overall
Isaiah Taylor drafted 15th overall

Knicks get the 1st pick
Lakers trade 2nd pick for Melo (Melo waves no trade)
76ers trade 4th pick and 15th pick for 2nd and filler

Too bad Kupchak basically stated that he would not be doing something like that very thing you are proposing just the other day.

Knicks will be fine. There is no dream line up but realistic line up. This is what I think Phil should do.

Phil Jackson teams have no super star point guards so I think he should keep Calderon and Galloway cause they can shoot the 3. Use the 2nd round pics to draft a pgs that can penetrate and lay the ball in with ease and can defend, Rose, Wall, Jackson, Uncle Drew, Teague and Lowry. You add Drew in the D league and let these guys compete for a spot along side Galloway and Calderon. I think you can sue analytics here :D

For the Guard position we get Mathews or Afflalo, and use Hardaway and Thanisis as back ups. In a game that we need extra defence u use Thanisis and when we need to spread the floor we use Hardaway Jr ( he will play well next year since its a contract year)

We draft Okafor or Towns and the back up will be Jordan in the dleague or a journey man who has a solid body and needs a last chance ala White side who is doing well and Amudson
Get Copeland to be Melos back up. Woodson always use Melo when Melo was out the boy can shoot. Cut early or allow him to develop in the dleague and Thomas will be the last option.
Try and get MIlsap or Drummond Green and get Jame Macadoo as the back up. You leave the 3rd option open you get the best rebounder in the d league and select a solid rebounder in the draft in the second round and allow them to battle it out in training camp. We have a Jordan in Melo, Phils has to find his Scottie and Pippen and solid role players.

Patrick Beverly / Jose Calderon
Danny Green / Langston Galloway
Carmelo Anthony / Tim Hardaway Jr.
Amir Johnson / Karl Anthony Towns
Omer Asik / Jason Smith

I don't think we have a shot at any "big names" but if the contracts with these guys are reasonable I'll be more than content. A lot of D in that starting line up around Melo
