Rodman normally goes 3rd rd. His defense, rebounding and the fact he doesn't need touches makes his value very high. His weakness is that teams can double team your best post player and that you cant play 1in 4out with him.

There are 2 guys who are 1st rd talents still on the board and Im tempted to take one even though Im looking at someone else for my 3rd pick.

Well I know one guy being hinted at, but am unsure about a second. Snake rounds suck for those at the end, watching 30 players disappear between my picks is awful.

Yeah, amen to that! I was hoping to get Rodman matched up with Moses. I'd own the boards.

I'll go with Shawn Marion for my third pick. I know I am skipping bunch of legends and might get some hate for this pick

Athletic freak, great defender who can guard multiple positions, great rebounder and doesn't need the ball in his hand to be effective

SG: Joe Dumars

Frazier and Dumars present the best def back court duo and Dumars 3pt range allows me to stretch that defense.

I'm actually really unsure. I'm pretty certain he was at his best defensively during his DET years, but as a rebounder and passer he might be at his best in Chicago... I'll have to dig deeper. But most likely I'll pick DPOY Rodman.

Didn't you get the memo that I had exclusive rights to all SSOL Suns players?

:D yeah I thought you where going to take him.

btw great pick by taking Rodman. I really wanted him on my team. He is not the best shooter but I think he is a solid offensive player because of his offensive rebounding

Let's clarify something before coaches start being taken off the board...

If I take Derek Fisher the player in round 4, is someone allowed to take Derek Fisher the coach after that? And specifically for someone who's on the banned players list... Are we allowed to draft that player and use him as our coach? And it's funny the way this draft is going to play out, I can think of at least 1 guy who will be drafted far, far higher as coach than as player.

Also, this is turning out to be a lot of fun. Especially as the rounds are getting deeper, I'm scouting a bunch of players that I wouldn't have spent much time on otherwise. Playing GM is always fun, but I feel like removing the top 12 makes us focus far more on constructing a coherent and well-fitting roster, rather than stacking talent or taking BPA and just getting guys who fit a role around him. Even the guys who chose KG and Robinson (IMO both top 12 talents) are constructing synergistic rosters that make a lot of sense.

Personally, I think it would be stupid to be able to draft the same guy as a player and a coach. Fortunately, most great coaches were mediocre players (and come on, nobody is going to take Fisher as a coach :P ) - Larry Bird is banned here as a player, and I guess taking him as a coach might be tempting for somebody, but that's fair, because nobody could select Bird as a player (I doubt anybody would like to take West as a coach, although he was solid in this role, too).

Hahaha the Fisher example was just to avoid talking about players/coaches who might seriously considered. But since we're tossing names out, Russell is another player who could have value as a coach IMO. And frankly there's one guy specifically who has very good value as both a bench player and a coach, so this issue may actually come out in practice.

And there are 12 teams here, and the 4 best coaches banned, so we might get to some lower-level coaches faster than one would think.

Okay, more major headaches trying to figure out fit, who'll be available etc.

Anyhow I'm drafting Grant Hill.

I'm hoping someone takes one of the talents I assume you are talking about, because I honestly don't want to have to choose between him and my game plan.

Incidentally, the matchups will be randomized after the fact correct? Ie, I'm not building a team to beat skyhook?

Oof this was a tough one. After some deliberation, I'll take Willis Reed

Hmm. Decisions decisions. My front court I've circled is still available. But since I've started with my backcourt maybe I should just make it as good as can be and let the chips fall where they will. I'll vote in the next hour if you are still here parsnip.
