I'm gonna go with the only MVP left on the board, Bob McAdoo. Awesome scoring and rebounding on good efficiency, (great efficiency if compared to peers of his era). In the early to mid 70's he averaged 30+ ppg / 14 rebounds / 2.5 blocks. Even if you adjust for pace these stats are still very impressive. If you watch his game you are in for an aesthetic treat, he is incredibly skilled and can score anywhere from 18 feetish and in. He doesn't have the rep as the most beastly defender but I wouldn't call him a slouch, he is athletic and has the bodytype to be a serviceable defender. Being paired next to Ewing will help McAdoo in specific touch match up situations, if he is getting bullied he can switch with Ewing. On the flip side Ewing being paired with McAdoo is going to take pressure off his offensive game. McAdoo is probably going to be my first option and leading scorer with Ewing as a solid second or third option, this will allow Ewing to focus and burn more motor on defense and the glass.

By the way I'm really happy with this pick falling to me. I almost picked McAdoo over Ray Allen in the 3rd round thinking that for sure I would have to pick between one of the two because both were not gonna fall to round 4. Looks like I lucked out.

Lots of options here... LOTS of talent still on the board... so Iguodala was taken. I'm gonna risk to lose the replacement I had thought and choose...

...On the point guard position, get ready to welcome tha RAPM gawd, best defensive point guard in the board, Mookie Blaylock.

Great pick. After I took Parish, my token UNC pick came down to McAdoo, Wallace, and Carter. However can we get an update on the draft list, because there are still some MVPs remaining correct?

Thanks, I certainly wouldn't be disappointed with the Chief and Rasheed. Chief is a classic center stud with all around game and Rasheed might end up being one of the steals of the draft with his unique and flexible skill-set.

Yeah, after making my post I was thinking back and I'm pretty sure I messed up and there are a few more MVP's left on the board.

So ready to make my pick. Where did giordunk go?

I'm really interested to see when players with Hall-of-Fame careers, but are poorly regarded on RealGM, start to be selected. Eventually the talent is going to be overwhelming.

Thanks for the list. I'm assuming ABA MVPs are being counted, because I didn't get nearly that many just eyeballing.

Yes, ABA is included, although I've only counted regular season MVPs, not finals.

I keep coming up with 11. But yes, how we approach the older players will be interesting. And by "we" I mean y'all, because I don't think I'm that brave with maybe a couple of exceptions. Parish was a stretch for me since I only saw the Bulls Parish. I used the player comparison board a lot as a crash course in learning about him. Very handy.

Parish is IMO an absolutely safe bet in terms of translating to today's game, but where it really becomes a concern is - what about the 50s and even 60s players? That's when you're really starting to take risks.

Agreed, I'm personally having reservations of picking 50's and early 60's players and it looks like our fellow drafters are feeling the same.

There are a number of 60's players who would do well in today's game (not counting Wilt, Oscar, and Russell, all of whom would be superstars in any era).

That's fine with me. Go ahead and pick a borderline all star and leave all the great HoFers to me. If you think a 13pts 8 rebs today is more impressive than 23pt 15rebs vs KAJ, Wilt, Thurmond and Russell then go ahead.

For big men the lane was last widened in the early 60s but with the exception of the ABA 1979 is the start of the 3pt line. If your going big I see no reason not to scoop up a 60s or 70s HoFer but yes I would be leary of taking a 60s PG who is a 42% shooter.

I just realized Warspite got Hondo after all. Can I assume that was one of the 1st round talent you were referring to? At least it was who I imagined you were talking about. Has the other one been taken at this point?
