PM-ed him the following.
Hi, it's your pick in the All-Time non-Elite Fantasy Draft. Are you okay? Are you still participating? If you don't pick within the next few hours (people are alluding to the possibility of a 48 hour absence which would be accurate in less than 4 hours) I suspect the draft would be continued in your absence.
Given he's been around (and posting) and he was quoted and thus presumably alerted by the preceding poster, I think that's fair notice. At 48 hours (given that if we all took 2 days, the draft, never mind any tournament resolution, would take 430 days, or a year and a little over two months) personally I'd at least consider shunting the pick back a couple of rounds (so that it benefits all equally, and serves as a detterent for going awol without a shared board) though on the other hand I understand if people think that's either too ungrateful (to the organiser) or counterproductive (would diminish gio's stake in participation and thereby cause rather than solve problems).

We could try to find someone who would take over giordunk's team, if he doesn't want to continue participating in this project (which is weird, considering that he's the one who started the whole thing). I guess that someone from the PC board would probably like to participate.
Anyway, I'm hoping that he'll come back and take care of it.

I'm in favor of a 24- or 36-hour window myself if it comes down to that. 48-hours is a long time.

And I'm unsure how I feel about outright skipping. It's weird in a snake format for one (me and skyhook could lose two rounds for a lapse that would cost someone else one round). I say just pull the highest rated unpicked guy on the top 100 list for that person. Or go in reverse alphabetical order of the HOF list or something.

The best solution for now is the skip his selection and allow him to select twice in the 8th round, which is 32 picks from now. Every single team from now until that selection picks twice (giordunk picks once, in round 7), benefiting us all equally. He would draft in his normal slot in round 8, just twice, making up for his missed selection in this round.

I'm okay with that. Really, anything that gets it going is better than waiting.

Re: All-Time non-Elite Fantasy Draft, Draft Thread
I don't think it will hurt Giordunk's team that much, anyway. There are so many ways to go with our teams now, and we all have our top-5 guys already with a ton of talent left on the board.
I don't foresee any objections. Those who have commented on the situation have agreed that we need to do something.
So without further ado, in continuing with my trend of selecting nightmarishly long players, I select Paul George. He will be the first wing off my bench and will play both the 2/3. He plays outstanding defense, can rebound, creates for himself, and has a good 3-pointer. He's almost a hybrid of Durant and Leonard, actually. Better on offense than Kawhi, better on defense than KD. I really, really love him as a 6th man. Hopefully I can get all three of my wings on the floor together situationally.
You're up.

I'm going for BPA here, and I think high quality wings the caliber of Dr.J are going to be pretty hard to find from here on in.

We should adopt a 24 hr window and then the next GM is up and the skipped GM can make his pick at anytime. Plenty of talent out there to choose from and if your not timely its your own fault. There are still a dozen MVPs left as well as several DPOYs and stat leaders of every category.

I can agree with that. So gior can vote whenever he comes back but the draft doesn't screech to a halt without him.

Incidentally, Warspite (I think) mentioned earlier that you could subscribe to the thread. It would give you a notice any time someone posts on here. Seems like a good option, and saves on quote boxes.

Every team we draft could win the title this year. So much talent left.

I need a guard who is elite defensively, can shoot threes, and also make plays.
Can't see anyone who does these things better than Michael Cooper. Coop is my guy here.

Re: All-Time non-Elite Fantasy Draft, Draft Thread
As Dave Cowens is actually still on the table this late, it seems too good to pass up; so he's my pick here. Can basically fill the same role as Horace Grant: maybe a marginally less efficient finisher to Grant, but a BETTER rebounder, and perhaps better passing. I think he gives a touch more versatility offensively, though with the squad already assembled, that's basically a non-factor......he simply won't be utilized to that degree on offense.
But he can do all the things I wanted Grant for: solid post-defense (and big/strong enough to guard PF or C), I see him capable of hedging and recovering on pick n' roll D, solid (even elite) defensive rebounding, some facilitating from the high post, hit some open 12-17 footers, and otherwise crash the offensive glass. Between him and Grant, I'll have those functions filled at an elite or near-elite level for 48 minutes a game.

fwiw guys, when scrolling thru to see who's been selected, it really helps if you at least bold your pick within the body of text.
On that topic, anybody got an updated draft list?

On the front page, the second (gior's) and third (mine's) post should be the complete list.
