Hinkie, however, just happens to be a genius, Chip... not so sure

Look man, I'm a huge Hinkie supporter, but that's ridiculous... Hinkie has been GM for 2 years and has brought in some good talent. I think this team has potential, but he hasn't truly built anything yet. He makes great trades don't get me wrong and he knows what he wants. He seems to draft well too. But Chip has been football's most revolutionary coach since 2008 or so. Oregon changed the way football is played in college and it's leaking into the pros. He's the leader of analytics in the NFL right now. To say Hinkie is a genius, but Chip isn't is ludicrous.

Yeah I'm starting to think that you are right that he had no intention of trying to trade up for Mariota OR he did want him initially but then had a sudden change of heart when he knew that he wasn't going to get all of the guys he wanted in free agency (i.e. McCourty, Franklin, Gore, Andre, etc.) since they will probably have to address their needs at WR, S, and OL in the draft and giving up a bonanza of picks for Mariota wasn't worth leaving those holes unfilled.

Still, if he does plan on keeping Bradford, the Rams should have been the ones giving us picks for Foles, not the other way around.

Yeah, the draft picks involved seemed really odd to me even now.

So you really think Chip's plan all along was to trade for Sam Bradford ? I don't know how anyone can believe that. Even if you don't think he's done everything possible to trade up for Mariota (which he has), why would we plan on taking on Bradford's $16 mil cap hold, while at the same time trying to upgrade our secondary with Maxwell and McCourty, trying to re-sign Maclin and sign Gore? Making those moves makes sense when your QB is on a rookie deal.

Not necessarily that Bradford was the plan, but that Chip knew moving up for Mariota would be too costly and therefore was snooping around for other options while the other teams believed he was all in on Mariota. And it just so happened that Bradford became available and he took a liking to him (and Shurmur already loved him beforehand; coached him in St. Louis and then tried to trade for him when he became the head coach in Cleveland).

Not sure how I feel about this. I'm guessing one of Murray/Mathews will be used as trade bait.

Supposedly Mathews hasn't signed yet. He only agreed upon a deal...

Its a win win situation. Either we sign a really good power running back or we force Dallas to pay him and further there tight cap situation.

Im fine with Murray, but he's had some issues staying health too, and coming off of a HUGE workload. I know mainstream fans would love the addition because of its "Fizz", but Im pretty sure we would be able to similar production with a combination of Sproles/Mathews/Rookie RB/Polk

Yeah I'm hearing that just now. I was going to say signing both Mathews and Murray makes little sense unless another trade was in the works involving one of them.

I am seriously hoping you guys sign him. Nice player, but has stayed healthy only one year and was used and abused last year with an extreme workload. Very much a boom or bust FA prospect with his bad injury and good production histories.

I hope we keep Mathews as well for now and give Murray a much lighter workload than he got last year

Side note: I noticed that quite a few Bucks fans on RealGM are also Eagles fans. I'm not complaining about it by any means, I just find it interesting.

So does anyone consider Murrary an upgrade over McCoy? I like the move, but McCoy is a bit less injury prone, doesn't fumble much, and didn't have a guarantee in his contract.

Not sure if it's a upgrade, they each play a different style. Murray is the north, south power back that Chip wants. McCoy is the finesse back. I don't really care which back we have, he just need to get the job done and not be injury prone.

Now it would be funny if Dez jumps ship also, lol. Not that I want a headcase here but that would really piss off the Cowgirls fans more.

I am not a Eagles fan but I don't care what anyone says from the Cowboys Board, landing Murray is an outright steal. The dude is a great Combo runner of Power and elusiveness. And is among the best pass catching RB's as well. Then combine him with Matthews as well to keep both guys from getting a huge amount of carries. If Philly can just grab a WR off the free agents that are still available. And maybe draft that tremendous Pass rusher at #20 from Kentucky..( Dupree )...they will be really set.

Our d-line is one of the best in the league already. Doubt we'd take him unless he's the bpa.

Best ? They were like 18th in team Sacks and gave up over 110 rushing yards per game. I would hardly call that all world. And Dupree, at 6ft 4 and 270lbs, he ran a 4.5 forty and defended a lot of TE's and defended them well. His athleticism and his first step is very explosive. I think he would be a perfect choice for the Eagles. And is one of the players I have ranked as a top-8 to 10 player in this draft. If he is at 20, he to me is a steal.
