I'll go with Vlade Divac

one of the founding fathers of flopping in the nba

great defender, great passer can spread the floor a little bit.

his teammates love him so he is good for the lockerroom

I'm going to go with Larry Brown as my head coach. Incredibility illustrious career highlighted by coaching the 2004 championship Pistons.

Damn. I was hoping to nab one or both of Vlade Divac and Larry Brown. :(

I've got some thinking to do before my turn comes around....

Luol Deng fits perfectly with my team.

I'm going to have to waive this off... At least with guys like Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis, we saw a logical development and progression to where they got to today. Kerr has less than one season under his belt.

Right now, I'm really scared of SkyHookFTW and Quotatious's teams. RevisIsland also has an interesting team, but seems a little too concentrated with recent players.

lilroddyb has a pretty stacked team too.

Fair enough. I will take George Karl.

I don't know, that team with Curry looks pretty swell. That's the word on the street at any rate.

Modern players in a modern setting. /shrug

I select Kyrie Irving . Deadly 3-point shooter. Microwave-type player off the bench.

Stars from any era can play in any era. A lot of talent has been overlooked IMO...and I'm not crying about it.

I draft Bill Sharman (coach). Cerebral guy who understands both sides of the ball.......Appears to work well with systems that revolve around a star scoring wing and a defensive anchor in the middle (Barry and Thurmond, West and Wilt, Beaty and Donnie Freeman in the ABA)......He appears capable of earning the respect of big egos (Barry, Wilt)......He appears to bring success where ever he goes (coached an ABA champion, coached an NBA champion---and one of the greatest teams all-time---in addition to other "successes"). 1-time Coach of the Year in both the NBA and the ABA.

Wow, I can't believe a 5-time all-star, HoF player and one of the best rebounding SF's in NBA history is still on the board. Averages around 24-25 ppg, 12.5 boards a game at his peak, and performed better in the playoffs. His game is very portable to today's NBA. Very high BBIQ. Incredible leaper, as befits is nickname, "Kangaroo Kid." Welcome, Billy Cunningham.

I need another guard. One of Billy's teammates also has a game that would fit well in today's NBA. HoF player, 10-time all-star, can play PG as well as SG, was the SG on what may be the best team in NBA history...named one of the 50 greatest players when they did that poll...7x all-second team NBA, but only because Oscar and West were in front of him...said to have the sweetest mid-range jumper of his time...another player that improved in the playoffs. How did these two guys not get picked yet????? Welcome, Hal Greer.

JeepCSC wrote:Just eyeballing and making snap judgements, I'd say Quotatious and Warspite look like the second- and third-best well-rounded, talented teams. There were a couple others I liked but immediately dismissed due to personal personnel issues (Owly for one). Most of the others I like but might need a tutorial on how the talent will be utilized. This is fun, so props to giordunk for making it happen.

Care to expand?

If you're going to call out (and indeed publicly "dismiss", before it's even finished) one team, you kind of want a reason.
