This is fun, so props to giordunk for making it happen.

Care to expand?

If you're going to call out (and indeed publicly "dismiss", before it's even finished) one team, you kind of want a reason.

I'm looking at your team, and I struggle to find any weaknesses. You've done an absolutely great job building your team, so far. Quite honestly, it's IMO the best team in the entire tournament, along with trex's and mine (sorry for not being humble this time, but I really love my team :P ).

Lanier
Karl Malone
Grant Hill/Marques Johnson (not sure who's going to start, I guess you'll split the minutes pretty even between these two)
Vince Carter
CP3

That's an extremely talented and versatile team. Nance and EJ are great subs, too.

Oh, and by the way, Jeep - "Eldum Brand", "Shane Floppier", "Lol Deng", "K'bye Irving"?  How classy...

I think I'd mentioned that while I'd likely start Rick Barry at SF (to soothe his ego), I want to primarily use him as the offensive engine of my 2nd unit. The guy who I want getting significant minutes at SF with the rest of my starters is a guy who doesn't need a ton of shots to have a big impact. I mostly want another guy to spread the floor and drop in open treys, while playing elite defense on the other end. So I'm picking Bruce Bowen.

You know what? I want to do exactly what Bowen did to Wally, to you...

Seriously, I was about to say that I'm going to take Bowen...Knowing that you have Barry and Gervin as your wings (not exactly defensive stalwarts), I suspected that you may take him even before I took Daugherty, though...

I'll really have to think about it now. Give me a while.

Don't take all things so seriously y'all. If a Carolina fan can't mock duke players on a message board game in March, than I don't know what to say.

I'm not super excited about this pick, but I'll take Tayshaun Prince. Not as good defensively as Bowen, but much more capable on offense.

Its very interesting how its been much easier to find a stretch 4 with range just inside the 3pt line than its is to find wings who are dead eye shooters.

I see three or four dead-eye shooting guards left. Two of them were even good enough for 25+ PPG at their peaks. They're bad defensively, though.

I have in mind a dead-eye +25ppg player with gooddefense. Hell, not only one, but two.

Not that I need more defense with MookGOD, Manu, Deng, Laimbeer and Deke, though.

Must have changed my mind like 5 times, but I'm going to go with Gerald Wallace. Gives me a bit more flexibility to use Carmelo as a 4 on offense for small ball lineups.

You're up

It's tough to draft - you can't really overload on defense too much but you can't overload on offense either.

Better players on board (and still a couple standouts), but I go with Danny Granger.

This might have been my toughest pick yet. I'm gonna go with the first player to reach 1000 3 pointers, self proclaimed "greatest shooter of all time"... Dale Ellis.

Image

Career made 1700 3 pointers on 40% clip. In his peak he was scoring 25 points a game on .589 TS%. He has also played roles coming off the bench and he actually backed up Ray Allen at the end of his career.

He is going to be backing up Ray Allen and probably will see some minutes at the 3 as well.
