13 is the number I'm hearing but I don't know how accurate.

Figured he'd go this year. GB budget just too low to retain guys. Horizon 1 team league too. Curious who is next. Gard, Greszck, Barone the ones I'm hearing to start.

18 is a push even for some JUCO's nowdays - for most kids.

I'm kind of the opposite when it comes to high school players. I think if they have the talent and a NBA team wants to take them in the draft, they should have every right to. I don't think it's fair a player has to wait a year to get a job that most are gonna end up getting in a year anyways. A good amount of these top recruits don't take academics very seriously and only have basketball on their minds. Kinda just seems like It's all to help the NCAA and for them to make more money off these players.

Good for him. And I'm really not surprised anymore. I'm starting to think alot of guys just want to get out of the state of WI period. Maryland isnt a bad school plus they still have that ACC smell on them and they play on the east coast.

I'll agree with you on part of the age rule existing to both prop up the NCAA and have it serve as the NBA's real minor league system. I just think there are few kids who are psychologically prepared to make that leap though from high school to the pro's. There has to be a better support structure for some of the kids than what has existed in the past.

*edit* Not every kid belongs in college after high school and that has nothing to do with intelligence or education, which can be two different things.

The age rule is completely wrong and un-American as far as I am concerned, it makes college sports a complete farce.

So are they just going to bank this scholarship for next year? Or is there a 5 out there worth recruiting?

Stone is a complete idiot for not coming to UW, two straight elite 8s, potentially two straight final fours. He would have tremendously improved his game under Ryan and likely his draft stock. Going to Maryland is a cash grab probably... someone paid him. I don't think it can be academics, if he got a 13 no school in the big ten could touch that... isn't 18 the minimum to play?

The "pure" NCAA IS a sham and has been for a long time.

There are legal age limits for quite a number of jobs and I have no problem with that.

Its arbitrary tho, there is no legal restriction preventing them from playing in the NBA. Agree about the NCAA tho.

While it would just destroy D-1 college basketball as we currently know it, the baseball model probably comes closer to what would be fair. Some kids get drafted out of high school, some out of college. Most pass through a true minor league system and get to the majors as their pace of development allows. That works to the benefit of both the kid and the team.

This would make sense to say if Bo didn't offer him a scholarship. He did though, so it's obvious he wanted him.
