And while many might not agree, I actually find the GR3 pick the most troubling of the group. It was EGs falling off the wagon pick. I thought he had learned his lesson regarding players like that.

I'm feeling like there is a higher chance then not that we get a new front office this off season. EG does ok with trades and sometimes does very good with them. But if you want to be the best, you need to more complete GM. That includes drafting the right players and then using them properly. Not being good at that is kind of a big deal.

And while I can blame some of that on the coach, and having a great coach would likely mask or fix some of that, that still doesn't explain GR3. That's my Canary in the coal mine.

I still don't have a problem with the GR Jr. pick. He was widely considered to have first round talent. So picking him in the second round was a risk worth taking, imo.

Hopefully, the GR Jr. gets his act together and makes it back to the NBA.

They should stuck with Wolters, the guy they drafted. However, if you trade for GR Jr do not bail out on his bad attitude! I hate the myopia.

You cannot rule impetuous youth with an iron fist. This team loves to label and blackball young people. Knucklehead is what young Wizards are called after Flip or Randy get through with them. Blatche, Crawford, Vesely, Young, McGee, Rice....

Why did EG draft those guys?

Draymond Green or Jae Crowder or younger Dejuan Blair... or Steph Curry or Paul Millsap or Kawhi Leonard or Kenneth Faried. ...

Why not draft strong performers and solid dudes?

I was ridiculed by Dat and DCZ and many others for pointing out why I thought Rice Jr. was a bad pick.

Regardless, they should have stuck with him through the process of seeing if he could contribute to the success of the Wizards.

Oh Ernie, after 20 years of underwhelming performance, isn't it time to get your head out of your butt and move on? Or at least hire someone with a track record of success in the draft!

I say look forward. Jabari Brown is at the end of his second 10-day deal.
He's worth a look.

CCJ apparently likes to beat dead horses, even when the subject in question isn't really note worthy. It's not about being right, its about repeating something so much that it almost becomes wizboard lore... like Wolters is slowly becoming your new Morris Almond. If Wolters actually had half the talent you think he has, he'd probably wouldn't be in the same place GRJr is right now, the NBDL.

Stellar drafting from Ernie. Those cash considerations the Wizards received for Clarkson are really improving the team.

I was real sleepy TBH. I actually was not trying to do anything but praise Otto's play. I seriously forgot this is his second season when I posted.I was trying to be optimistic.

I was thinking about April being a short regular season month and Otto's last three games. I seriously was thinking as if Otto were a rookie.

He and CJ Mccollum are just now finding their way as NBA players.

And he's likely going to finish 3rd in ROY voting - behind Wiggins and Noel - assuming Noel qualifies as a rookie. Ernie......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... picked him and traded him for a Walmart coupon.

Clarkson backing up Wall would have been dynamic. Ernie needs to go. The guy is a joke.

Does Ted even care that Ernie is a terrible evaluator of talent? The Lakers couldn't believe their luck when they were able to get Clarkson.

#FireErnie ~ Because he believed Stephen Curry couldn't help us and Jan Vesely could.

This could very well, go down as one of the worst trades in wizards history, But Clarkson might now be with the lakers long.... Cuz they lakers have stars in their eyes and as good as Clarkson is, they want stars........

Clarkson might be doing enough to keep the Lakers from getting a top 5 pick which would force them to give it up to the 76ers. It might be a lose/lose trade.

We'll see if the Wizards can keep this little run of improved play going into the playoffs. Maybe Porter and Gooden will save Ernie and Randy's jobs.

Someone asked about Bynum's PPA back when he signed his 10-day contract. Finally had a chance to look up the numbers (got reminded by the Wizards signing him for the rest of the season), and...ugh.

Bynum's peak PPA was 68, which he did in consecutive years for Detroit -- 2008-09 and 2009-10. In 2010-11, he posted a 67. Last season, his PPA was 50.

His career PPA: 58.

In PPA, 100 = average and higher is better.

Hence why his PPA numbers belong here. And to that a hammy injury and you just have to shake your head again.
