Re: Around The NBA: 2014/2015
God, I try not to be too petty about guys who left but that's just so true. I can't even begin to count how many times I thought "HOLY **** GORAN PASS IT TO THE BIG GUY HE'S RIGHT **** THERE" over the years. Great drive and kick guy, great when he's looking for his own shot but man is his chemistry with big men seriously lacking. Even this year he was looking off a wide open Alex Len to throw cross court passes to shooters that got picked more often than not.
Truly was my biggest complaint, especially because of how many people always said he "learned under Nash". He took a few moves from Nash, sure, but Nash absolutely loved feeding the big guys in the lane.
Now, Goran's not horrible in that regard, but you're right that it's definitely jarring when we grew up watching KJ, Kidd, Nash etc. make all those passes.

Riley should convince Dragic to sign for 5 years 75 million.... But he would of gotten that from the Suns had he committed to stay. Water under the bridge.

LaVine getting minutes and a proper role to develop....
However earlier, when matched against Goodwin, Goodwin looked more ready than LaVine.
Just makes you wonder how productive Goodwin would of been had Hornacek played him huge minutes... sure he'll struggle earlier on but he will learn and adapt quickly.

Westbrook got his 16th technical of the season against the Pacers. He will be suspended for the Thunder's next game unless the league rescinds the technical. What an embarrassment. I said recently that Markieff, Cousins, and Westbrook hurt their teams with all their technical fouls. There is a perfect example.

Except Westbrook and Cousins stat-lines and impact far outweighs the technicals they bring in. Kieff.. not so much.

It always amazes me some people don't see the difference.

No I 100% see the difference. I even said when I was talking about it not too long ago that Westbrook and Cousins deserve way more leeway when it comes to technical fouls because they are mvp caliber all stars while Markieff is a glorified bench player. I was then criticized by a poster here who disagreed with my line of thinking that Westbrook and Cousins should get more leeway than Markieff. I was just mentioning it tonight because even though Westbrook does everything for his team, the fact that he is such a hot head and has so many technical fouls just caused him to be suspended for the most important game of the Thunder season. That is all I am saying. Even if his technical foul is rescinded, it is pretty unacceptable for a player to do that and put his team in such a bad position like he did tonight.

It's two way street though. Because both Westbrook and Cousins are stars, and from what I've seen in this league, get the benefits of calls being stars, it would seem that other players that play with passion, but don't get the star calls, would be guys that get the most frustrated, and say something? Techs are tough and very subjective. We expect these guys to play with passion, yet in the heat of the moment, expect them not to get frustrated? I've never seen a ref get fined for making a bad call that changed the game completely. At most they say, "oops, there should have been a foul called there."
I hope the league doesn't rescind the tech, they have to at least try and make it look like they don't cater to the star players.
They have already rescinded one of his techs this season.

Wow.
The NBA shows no mercy to Amare, but cuts Westbrook a break.
****.
I'm really starting to hate this league.
I'm sick of the **** officiating.
I'm sick of the biased treatment of certain players by the league.
I'm sick of these overpaid crybabies.
I'm sick of the high prices.
I'm sick of NBA league pass blackouts.
I'm sick of NBA related apps and stores being loaded with spyware and hogging my data and offering so much fluff and bull that I have to go elsewhere (realgm or yahoo sports) to get any real news on pages that load faster.

Yep, league=joke.
What is the point in having rules, when the league then chooses what rules they care to enforce on a case by case basis.

Re: Around The NBA: 2014/2015
Could the league be any more obvious? So Westbrook gets his seventeenth tech rescinded, and then OKC shoots three times as many free throws?
27-9 free throw differential?
Did the refs think they were playing the Suns?
The Pels better make the playoffs with that bs.

Re: Around The NBA: 2014/2015
Before I let my disgust run loose again (like when the league blatantly reffed the Lakers into the playoffs whilst playing playoff commercials including them weeks ahead of the end of the regular season), has the NBA rescinded any other technical this season?

I rarely ever agree with you but I do here. I didn't watch the game and usually expect OKC to have more fts because of Westbrook's game but 27-9...

Cousins has 3 years of his contract left. I can't imagine him geting traded. Even Kings management isn't this stupid.

Yeah, I think it's doubtful, but I was a little surprised to see those comments. Of course that guy could know nothing.

Re: Around The NBA: 2014/2015
I have said many times, I do not consider Cousins to be a cornerstone player because of his attitude. I think it is that detrimental to a team. The talent is there but wow, if George Karl is not interested in keeping him, then I put some stock into that because I respect Karl's opinion. He was the one that said Carmelo is not a championship caliber player and I 100% agree with that. So if Karl says this: “Excuses are for losers and we want to be a winner," then I believe him.
There are literally like 10-15 youtube clips I could pull up right now of Cousins acting like a lunatic. But besides my own personal opinion, here is a more telling stat. Cousins has been on the Kings for five seasons including this year. In all of those seasons, the Kings have never won more than 28 games. They are currently 28-53 this season with one game remaining versus the Lakers. If the Kings lose that game, they will finish the season at 28-54 for the third year in a row. Yes you read that right. Potentially three straight years of going 28-54. That is atrocious. For some reason they can beat the Suns. Idk why but they do. Much like the same way the Suns can beat the Blazers even though the Blazers are clearly a better team than the Suns.
Another important stat about Cousins is that in his five years, he has only been the top Win Share Generator on his team once. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SAC/ The other four years he was beaten out by Ben Udrih, Isaiah Thomas (twice), and Rudy Gay. He might be talented but so far in his career him as a player absolutely does not equal wins. I would be incredibly hesitant to give up major pieces for him based on all of these things.

Re: Around The NBA: 2014/2015
Btw, I know some people say Cousins just needs to have better talent around him to win. Well I do not necessarily agree with that. Here is the difference between a real superstar like Charles Barkley who wanted better talent around him in order to compete for a championship and Demarcus Cousins.
When Charles Barkley was on the 76ers, his team made the playoffs 6 of 8 years. Once reaching the ECF when he was a rookie and three times reaching the second round. He was also the leading Win Share Generator seven years in a row for his team starting with his second season in the league. Of those seven years, his lowest Win Share Generator total was 10.8, the first year, and his highest was 17.3, the fifth year. Those are monster superstar numbers.
Of Cousins' five years in the league, for him to be beaten out by Udrih, Thomas, and Gay in Win Shares is pathetic considering some people claim he is an mvp caliber talent. The one year Cousins did lead his team in Win Shares, his Win Share Generator total was 7.9. On the 76ers, Barkley's lowest was 10.8 and the other six years it was never below 12.0. This season, the Kings Win Share Generator leader is Rudy Gay at 6.1. So Cousins could not even beat that and he is supposedly this incredible, phenomenal player. I just do not see it. Oh yeah, Barkley's 76ers teams finished with at least 44 wins in six of his eight years there. The other two years the 76ers had 35 and 36 wins. This was in an Eastern Conference that had some pretty amazing teams. Cousins cannot even lead the Kings to at least 30 wins in five seasons. That is insane. Why are so many people in love with this guy?
