It's great to see how other players praise TJ. Can't wait to see how he will develop.

Unfortunately neither is true.
I agree that Goodwin is not an underrated shooter. But regarding 3pt shot, it's improved... Atleast his confidence in taking them has improved. And he will miss 100% of the 3pters he doesn't take.
It's improved statistically but it's not a threat so...has it really improved though?

Young pg: Brandon Knight. Fits the description as well as anyone else out there. Check
Shooting guard: Bogdan, PJ Tucker (use Warren or Marcus at the 3, seemed to work some), draft or free agency. Afflalo provides 3 and D and vet leadership.
Veteran leadership: Tricky one. Probably looking for a respected player coming back from injury issues that was once really good--a Grant Hill. Danny Granger?
Center/Forward: Kaminsky. Resign Wright (both?).
I will add to your list. Trade the Morri for a starting caliber PF.

Suns needs just one thing, unfortunately the thing that is the hardest to get - a star. Somebody who will get 20+ points every game. And who will get some love from the refs.

Can't win a championship without 2 All-Stars, never been done.

Mavericks? Just a first thought I'm sure there is more.
For now just let's focus on getting the first all-star.

They had 4 All-Stars, 31 appearences combined.
Nowitzki x 13
Kidd x 11
Marion x 4
Chandler x 1
We have 0.
We're a long way back even from the perceived weakest Championship winner.
That's why I don't really buy into the talk of getting more good, slightly above average players.

Chicken and the egg. If you are having a championship caliber year, your players are going to get all-star bids. Put together the best team possible and the all-star thing will work itself out.

By this logic we already have an all-star on the team in Granger. Kidd and Marion were waaaay past their all star status by that point. Chandler was a fringe star. Dirk was the only true all-star on that team. They just built a good team much like last year's spurs

Wait, you need good players to win a championship? Glad that was cleared up.

I say we throw our best offer at Aldridge. If these reports are true, and he's looking to test the market. He'll have plenty of suitors, but he would be the premiere PF we so direly need. If he's willing to leave Portland, maybe going to a contender isn't on the top of his agenda

I do not think Aldridge would be interested in the Suns. He is about to turn 30. I think he would want to play for an immediate contender if he leaves Portland. He is a great player though. I just believe the Suns are not an attractive situation for him unfortunately.

Like LA...Kobe, plus LA ( the marketing opportunities alone!!-I can already see the campaign- "I am LA"), plus high draft pick, plus Randle, plus ring chasers equals a problem....
Maybe we could squeeze Russell out of them for Bled like was proposed earlier in another thread.

I could see the Suns throwing a big offer to Greg Monroe. Word was that they tried to get him last summer. He is considered a pf. I am not sure how his game would mesh with Len since Monroe does not really shoot outside, but I do not think Len has shown enough to start building around him yet.

Of course we don't have any all stars. We only have players who have started no more than a year and a half, except for Brandon Knight and role players. It's rare to make an all star team on your rookie contract unless you are a superstar, but Knight nearly did this year.

It amazes me how many people still throw Kobe into some perceived killer lineup along with two rookies making a team an instant contender. Rookies will not contribute enough to become a contender in the west, and Kobe won't either. I hope they throw a ton of money at Rondo though, because he will not be worth it and is simply just not all that valuable in today's nba.

That is who I picture the Suns going after too. Len and Monroe could play together the same way as Randolph and Gasol. Plus Monroe is only 24 so he fits in with the age of the core.

C'mon BW, you know there is no optimism allowed here. The only appropriate answer is our team sucks and we need a new one.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Possible, but a major change in playing style. And Monroe and Drummond (which is much better than Len) didn't really work out in Detroit under 3 different coaches, so I am guessing it is unlikely that a 2-big system with Monroe is a game changer. Len has more range than Drummond, so that is the hope we'd have to clinge on.
If we signed Matthews and Monroe, we'd be a very good defensive* team with Bledsoe/Matthews/PJ/Monroe/Len, with a good scoring punch with Warren and the Morri off the bench. But I guess we don't have the cap for that...
*Monroe's defense is controversial: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports ... /22253271/
