If the assets aren't worth anything than there is no value. zero times anything is still zero. if anyone is dumb enough to trade for a second rounder, they might need to be evaluated.

I'm sure Shane would give him something if looney fell.

I will win my way!! ....ROsystem will pay off eventually

Steals and assists backfired severely for me because some factors haven't gone my way"

-Rondo basically becoming useless after the trade(assists/steals)
-Stephenson underachieving big time (assists)
-Howard missing most of the season(steals)

+ injuries /tough luck

Only category I admit having overrated my eventual output is steals ....I can do better than this ,but I have been hit by some external factors...either way my draft/trade strategy will hinder of this,it's no surprise...improving these 2 categories

You're right ,going 5 cats heavy basically means no room for error.... I can't afford any hits from injuries /trades,etc

As far as assets are concerned .....I basically lost NOTHING in terms of value ..at least for what I planned to keep anyway
Yeah,I'll probably forfeit my own 2nd rounder....but somebody will offer me something for my picks ,if I don't get rid of them meanwhile,no doubt about it

Trying to create a monopoly doesn't devalue your assets... It actually gives him more power to raise the price of the product. The assets are being devalued because of time (the product will expire) which will make him relatively unresponsive to a drop in price as the draft approaches.

The oil industry actually provides evidence for why your original theory doesn't work. Successful collusion is hard, and OPEC sets production goals every year, yet it's members always cheat and produce more than the target. Similarly, someone will be compelled to lowball Ro for one of his picks, and if everyone else is holding out, Ro will be forced to accept this offer. By violating the terms of collusion, you benefit from the lower price and get to pick before those who colluded. It's just like the prisoners dilemma. If you want a pick, the dominant strategy is always to offer Ro something, regardless of whether or not everyone else tries to isolate him.

Blah, blah, blah... if you're adding more than 1-2 rookies you're gonna miss the playoffs once again. The guy has 6 picks.

That doesn't change the fact that his picks have very little value. Like I said earlier he will be lucky if 1 of those second rounders ends up producing the first year. Putting all the lottery picks this year that we acquire. 2 maybe three will contribute this year. The rest will take years. Its not about us not trading with Ro because we think he will forfeit his picks, is that most of us know that those picks are worthless to begin with.
