Warriors in 5 (if no hustle plays ruin Curry's ankles).

BTW, I'm still waiting for someone to pop Delly. If the end of the half scuffle is anything to note, there may be some rough play in the second half. I am disappointed that the Hawks season has come down to a bunch of injured players (even moreso than Cleveland) running a shell of their once-beautiful offense.

Ummm what? Cavaliers had no Varajao, no Love, no Kyrie til tonight, and Shump and LeBron dinged up maybe a tad less than Demare Carroll. Not sure where you're getting that from...

Just logged in for the first time in so long that I forgot I had an account to say this series was a disaster, but did not temper my enjoyment of this season at all. What a year and what a fun team to watch and support. I hope most of the Hawks fans feel this way.

8 years in the playoffs in a row is nothing to sneeze at. Hope they keep building. I'm excited about the new ownership.

Varajao and Sefelosha don't count, since they've been out for months. I'm not sure what to make of Love, since he's been out for a while as well. But here are the Hawk's starters injuries:

Teague; Ankle
Korver: Out with Ankle
Carroll: Knee
Millsap: Shoulder
Horford: Finger

And here are Cleveland's injuries:

Irving: Knee
Shumpert: ???? (something) ----> or is JR Smith the starter?
James: Ankle and Back
Thompson: Nothing --------> Love: out with shoulder
Mozgov: Nothing

Haha ok. Whatever you say then. Kyrie and Love being out already is worse, they are 2 all-star for gods sake. Kyrie played less min this series than Korver, and Love played 0 min. That lone makes it worse.

But alas this is the Hawks board, so I will take my laughter at that comment elsewhere.

Congrats on a hard fought season this year Atlanta.

Cleveland has the best player in the world, I think they can withstand injuries a bit better than the Atlanta Hawks can. Come on now.

Ok this ended badly but it was still hell of a season for Hawks. I had a great fun watching this team. Go Hawks!

dude you have LBJ who is a top 10 player of all time, he is more than capable of putting up the production of 3 players. Everything revolves around him

The strength of the hawks was getting contribution from a number of guys. When 1 guy goes down it significantly hurts the team.

Irving: Knee, Ankle
Shumpert: Groin (happened in Bulls series)
James: Ankle, Back
Thompson: Shoulder (happened in Bulls series)
Mozgov: Nothing

Missing: Love, Varejao (practically Irving too)

Injuries have been bad on both sides, man. Not sure what the point of this is.

Cleveland, with Irving and Love out and Shumpert taking smiths spot started 5 good to great defenders.

The Cavs normal starting lineup has one great, one very good and 3 bad defenders.

But I expect Millsap and Carroll to need some surgery in the offseason and I wouldn't be surprised if the same is said for teagues ankle and Horfords finger. bottomline, Clevelands replacements showed up, our bench didn't.
Cavs were better injured than we are injured. And dealing with injuries are part of basketball.

Well fellas the season may have had a disappointing end but let's not forget about how we got here.

First ever 60 win season

First ever appearance in the ECF

First ever team to go 17-0 in a month

19 game winning streak

Coach of the year

Only team selected with 4 all stars

Finished 1st in the east

We have A LOT to hang our hats up on. This season has been nothing short of amazing. All of the fans that had to go through the ISO-Joe and josh smith days; it has been a long time coming. For all of the new guys that came onto the Hawks forum towards the tail end of the season, I hope you guys all stick around and commit to this great team. This franchise is going forward in the right direction now and I am proud to say that I am and will always be an Atlanta Hawks fan.

PMott...how the hell do you have 3600 posts in only one year on RealGM? You'd have to avg like 99 posts every day to accomplish that.

Well when I first started on RealGM I spent a lot of the time on the T&T Games Forum where you make several posts during GMAT. Still spend a lot of time on the T&T forum and our forum (like making all those game threads). Now that I think about it, maybe I do spend a little too much time on here..

I'm very disappointed in the effort and focus throughout the playoffs. I'm also surprised in a negative way by coach's Bud inability to make changes and adjustments as those 3 series went on but overall the Hawks did a good job. Reaching the ECF was a great achievement, 19 game winning streak, 60 wins, ball movement all those things were amazing. I still think we made our biggest mistake at the trade deadline. We only know how to play one way, that can get you in a lot trouble as we saw in the playoffs. As good as this team is I'd like to see quite a few of them gone next season, mainly the ones over 30 and the starting PG.
GO HAWKS.

Season went downhill, got a 1 seed, to looking ok in 2 rounds getting by, and swept with a huge blowout in game 4. :noway:

What up with our cornerstone going 1-5? and we see why folks had doubts. It will be hard for them to live this down, even if they are among the east leaders in 15-16. :nonono:
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Been following Hawks since my first game in 1976. The one thing that should not be done is to overreact! Hawks have a great teams that needs a great player! Why not draft Kaminsky to do three man big rotation with Horford and Millsap. Sign a wing like Affalo and let the team grow together! Demarre will be better and so will Teague and Schrueder. Kyle is at his peak and Bazemore might be ready to start!

Hawks players still physically reeling from the Cleveland series:

Shelvin Mack will have surgery for a Grade 5 separation of the right shoulder on Tuesday. The Hawks guard said he would miss 3-4 months with the injury which included ligament damage.

“It’s pretty bad,” Mack said Thursday during exit interviews.

Mack was injured in the closing minutes of the season-ending Game 4 loss to the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.

Mack, wearing a shoulder sling, said he the sugery would take place in Atlanta. He expects to be back shooting before the start of training camp on Sept. 29.

This also makes it unlikely we are able to trade him this offseason in hopes of creating any more cap space.
