Adrian Peterson Asks Vikings To 'Honor' Contract

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 29, 2015 4:23 pm

Adrian Peterson has no guaranteed money remaining on his deal with the Minnesota Vikings and would like financial assurances from the Minnesota Vikings beyond the 2015 season.

Peterson is due $12.75 million in 2015 and his concern is with 2016.

"I love people who think they know it all!," Peterson wrote. "Smh, Research how many NFL teams hasn't honored a player's contract & learn something. Question for the people, is a contract two sided or one? Ok great two sided! Well why when one party decides ... Mr. ? we wan't you to take a pay cut now or better yet flat out release you! There's never no talk about honoring a contract!"

Peterson spent all but one game of last season serving a suspension stemming from his no-contest plea on what the league called "an incident of abusive discipline" toward his 4-year-old son.

"I know hundreds of player's that wished their team would've HONORED the contract! But instead got threw to the side like like trash," Peterson went on. "A lill crazy how one side has so much power that they can do as they please when it come to the contract!"

Even if the Vikings release Adrian Peterson, they're still honoring the contract. When he signed that massive deal, he knew that it wasn't fully guaranteed and that if he was released, he only got the guarantees. This isn't some bait and switch like he's making it out to be.

He continues to act like the victim in all of this, and its a shame because of how dominant he is as a player. Too bad he just cant seem to keep his head on straight.

What's he babbling about? He signed a contract, didn't he? Why doesn't he understand the terms he signed?

Guess what Adrian, Backs get old and broken down before they're 28. Nobody wants to have a running back on a guaranteed deal for 5 years when players at that position break down so quickly.

Until he joins one of your teams... Then you'll love him, beg the team to appease him, and wait in line to slurp him like the rest. He's just presenting his case to get more money or guaranteed money in a different way. The NFL is more business oriented than any other league, there are no guarantees past the first few years, and they won't pay if you can't play, won't play, or potentially can't play.

Yeah its crazy how people can be when all the powers on one side. Kind of like how you leave scars and marks all over your kids body since your a big nfl player and he's 4 years old and can't fight back.
